Exolaunch announced the closing on October 7, 2026, which followed EQT’s June 18, 2026 signing of a definitive agreement that had expected closing in the fourth quarter. The deal’s value has not been disclosed.
What closed, and when
EQT’s acquisition of Exolaunch is complete. EQT first announced the signed agreement on June 18, 2026, when it described the planned investment as support for global operations, new launch and deployment technology, and expanded services across the satellite mission lifecycle. Exolaunch’s October 7, 2026 closing announcement confirmed the deal had closed and said the investment would let the company scale operations and pursue more opportunities with established and emerging launch providers.

- Launch program planning and mission management
- Capacity procurement on launch vehicles
- Satellite integration and testing
- Logistics, including customs
- Orbital deployment
Its March 30, 2026 release for the Transporter-16 rideshare shows how these pieces fit together in practice. The company describes coordinating procurement, contractual and technical deliverables, customs and logistics, launch campaign operations, satellite integration, and deployment for the mission, which carried 57 customer satellites. For customers, the value is that one provider manages the chain from contract to orbit. The release is in the Transporter-16 mission release.
Announced launch programs
Exolaunch’s recent announcements list several missions at different stages. All of the following are future-dated plans, and none is described as a completed launch. Company-stated target dates may change.
| Program | Role described by Exolaunch | Target date (as announced) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| NASA GRACE-C | Launch integrator, selected alongside the German Space Agency | Planned on Falcon 9, no earlier than Q4 2028 | Oct 7, 2026 release |
| Mitsubishi Heavy Industries H3 flight | Capacity secured by Exolaunch | 2027, mid-inclination orbit | Oct 7, 2026 release |
| Exo-1 | Dedicated Falcon 9 mission | Scheduled for 2027 | Oct 7, 2026 release |
| Exo-2 | Dedicated Falcon 9 mission | Scheduled for 2028 | Oct 7, 2026 release |
| Starfall (SpaceX, on Starship) | Payload integration and return-to-Earth service | Targeted for 2029 | Sept 21, 2026 release |
Each row reflects the company’s own schedule. Launch dates for dedicated and future missions depend on the launch provider, so readers should treat the years as company targets rather than confirmed flight dates.

Starfall: an announced service, not yet flying
The most significant service expansion in the company’s recent announcements is payload integration for SpaceX’s Starfall mission aboard Starship, targeted for 2029. Exolaunch says the offering is meant to support microgravity research, in-space manufacturing, and the return of payloads to Earth.
In this model, Exolaunch aggregates customer demand and manages the technical, contractual, logistical, and operational requirements for those payloads. Because the service is targeted for 2029, customers buying it today are buying a future capability. The September 21, 2026 Starfall announcement is the primary source for the service description.
Satellite totals: which figure to use
The company’s cumulative satellite counts changed across its 2026 announcements because each one is dated. They are not competing measurements of the same moment.

What the announcements do not establish
- The purchase price or any other financial terms of the deal
- Specific operational or governance changes made after closing
- Independent assessment of the investment thesis or of the company’s growth figures
- Confirmed launch dates for GRACE-C, H3, Exo-1, Exo-2, or Starfall
- Competing transactions or direct alternative providers, which the material does not compare
How to compare Exolaunch’s portfolio
Because no direct competitor comparison is established by the announcements, the most useful way to read Exolaunch’s expansion is along a few axes:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Service stage: operating rideshare and integration work versus the announced future return-to-Earth payload service
- Mission type: shared rideshare, such as Transporter-16, versus dedicated launches such as Exo-1 and Exo-2
- Launch provider and vehicle: SpaceX Falcon 9 and Starship, or Mitsubishi Heavy Industries H3
- Target date and orbit: the announced year, and for the H3 flight, a mid-inclination orbit
- Scope of responsibility: which parts of procurement, integration, logistics, operations, deployment, or payload return the company handles
Used this way, the announcements show a company moving from launch coordination into a wider set of missions and services, with EQT’s backing in the planning stage.
