Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Are you trying to fix an Epson keyboard, or did you mean an Epson printer? Epson’s Windows 11 support guidance here covers printers, all-in-ones and scanners—not an Epson keyboard driver. If your device is a keyboard, check its exact make and model and use that manufacturer’s support page; the printer steps below will not fix it.
If you meant an Epson printer or all-in-one, start with its exact model. Epson says a Windows 11 driver, when available for that product, is listed on its product support page.

First, identify the Epson device
Read the model name or number printed on the device. For a printer or all-in-one, open Epson Support, search for that model, and select Windows 11 in the operating-system selector. Download only the driver or software listed for that product and operating system. Availability is model-specific; a driver for a similar Epson product is not a safe substitute.

Choose between Epson’s driver and Windows’ built-in printer driver
If the Epson support page lists a Windows 11 driver, use Epson’s model-specific driver when you need its full set of features. Epson Europe says Windows Ready Print—the built-in Windows driver—can provide basic printing when a dedicated Epson Windows 11 driver is not published, but it does not provide all Epson functions.
| Path | What it offers | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Epson model-specific driver | May include Epson options and utilities such as paper type, print quality, borderless printing, color management, nozzle checks, head cleaning and ink-level monitoring. Availability depends on the exact model and Windows 11 support listing. | Use it when available, especially if you need Epson-specific print settings or maintenance features. |
| Windows Ready Print built-in driver | Basic printing; it may omit Epson options and utilities listed above. | Use it when no dedicated Windows 11 driver is listed or as a basic-printing option. Epson says the device may receive it after connecting by USB or to the same network as the PC. |
Epson Europe says Windows Ready Print is enabled by default on supported systems and prioritizes Microsoft’s IPP Class Printer Driver over manufacturer drivers. Its FAQ characterizes Microsoft’s roadmap as deprioritizing third-party printer drivers from July 2026 onward. That statement describes Epson Europe’s account of the roadmap; it should not be read as confirmation of one universal change affecting every Windows 11 device.

Install the printer through Windows if it did not appear automatically
- Connect the printer to the PC by USB, or connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi or Ethernet network. For a network connection, Epson specifies that the PC and printer must share the network. Make sure the PC has internet access.
- In Windows 11, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select Add device and wait for Windows to find the printer. Select Add device beside the printer when it appears.
- After installation, check the printer in Printers & scanners. If Windows installed its built-in driver, printing may work without Epson’s additional utilities.
Epson describes the automatic built-in-driver route for devices connected over USB or the same network. It is a possible setup path, not a guarantee that every printer will install automatically or expose every Epson feature.
Address Epson Europe’s Windows 11 24H2 USB setup issue
Epson Europe documents a specific case: on Windows 11 version 24H2 or later, USB setup can fail or install an AirPrint/Mopria driver instead of the Epson driver. Its workaround is scoped to that situation; it is not a universal fix for every Epson model, Windows build or connection type.

- In Windows settings, turn off Default install printers using Windows Ready Print.
- If a printer queue was installed previously for the device, remove that queue as Epson Europe instructs.
- Run the Epson driver installer for the exact model again.
If those controls or steps do not match your Windows setup, consult Epson Europe’s instructions for your model and version before removing other printers or changing unrelated settings.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Check Windows on ARM before using an installer
Some Windows PCs with ARM processors may not support a manufacturer’s standard installer. Microsoft advises trying Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Add device, unless the manufacturer provides specific ARM instructions. Use Epson’s model page to verify the driver first, and do not assume that an installer for a different Windows architecture will work.
What to check if setup still fails
- No Windows 11 driver is listed: Confirm the model and operating-system selection on its Epson support page. If there is no dedicated driver, try Windows’ built-in route rather than downloading a driver for another model.
- The printer is missing from Add device: For Wi-Fi or Ethernet, verify that the PC and printer are on the same network. For a USB setup, reconnect the printer and retry the Windows device search.
- Only basic printing works: Windows may have installed the generic built-in driver. Check whether Epson lists a full driver for the model if you need Epson utilities or advanced settings.
- The installer reports a problem: Confirm the exact product model, Windows version and PC architecture before choosing another driver. Without those details, a specific download cannot be identified reliably.
For model-specific availability, see Epson America’s Windows 11 driver FAQ. Epson Europe explains the built-in driver and feature limitations in its Windows Ready Print FAQ and documents the 24H2 USB procedure in its Windows 11 printer FAQ. Epson’s manual Windows installation route is described in its printer-installation FAQ.
