For installation, the manual calls for a flat, level surface, at least 50 cm of clearance from objects, and unobstructed air inlets and outlets. It advises closing doors and windows to improve efficiency. The unit is for indoor use.
Does it need a window kit and exhaust hose?
The manual’s listed accessories include an exhaust hose, round and flat adapters, a remote control, a drain tube for continuous drainage, a carbon filter, and a window spacer kit with fasteners. These are the documented items; the manual does not establish a replacement-part number or compatibility with generic hoses, filters or window kits.

Check that the supplied window spacer kit suits your window arrangement and that any replacement accessory is confirmed for EPA58041BG before buying. The manual says the fitted plug is intended for Australia/New Zealand mains and standards. Match the electrical supply to the appliance’s rating label; do not assume the unit is suitable for another market. It also says not to use an extension cord.

Washable air filters
- Switch off the appliance before removing its filters, following the instructions in the complete manual.
- Gently tap the washable filters or vacuum away dust.
- Rinse them under warm running water.
- Let them dry completely before refitting.
- Reinstall the filters before operating the appliance. The manual warns not to run it without them.
Activated carbon filter
The supplied activated carbon filter is not washable. The manual says its lifespan varies with ambient conditions and recommends checking it and replacing it if necessary, approximately every six months. Treat that as a maintenance suggestion, not a guaranteed service life. No exact replacement SKU is established in the manual.

What to check if it is not working as expected
The manual’s troubleshooting checklist points to basic checks before seeking service:
- If the unit will not start, check the power connection and whether the water-full indication is showing.
- If cooling seems insufficient, compare the room and set temperatures, close open doors or windows, and consider nearby heat sources.
- Check whether filters are dirty or the air intake or outlet is blocked.
Do not dismantle the appliance or attempt refrigerant-system repairs. The manual says only a licensed professional may dismantle it. After transport or tilting, it instructs users to leave the unit standing upright for at least 12 hours before connecting it.
