It tells you what the account currently displays—not whether that account can use the feature, which credits apply, what the selected generation will cost, or whether you have authority to spend. Check those separately before confirming.
What a Flow credit balance does—and doesn’t—tell you
Google documents plan allowances, model-specific generation costs, feature eligibility, purchase controls, and usage records as separate matters. A balance is therefore one input to a spending decision, not proof that a particular generation is eligible or approved. This distinction is practical guidance drawn from those separate controls, not a Google statement that arithmetic grants authorization. Google Flow Help

How many credits does a Flow generation use?
There is no universal cost per request. Google says costs are per generation, not per request: a single request can create multiple generations, and the required credits depend on the model and operation. For example, Google lists 100 credits per Veo 3.1 Quality generation. That is a published product cost, not a guaranteed price for every model or task; check the cost shown in Flow immediately before confirming because costs and limits can change. Google Flow Help
Dividing the displayed balance by an assumed cost per request can overstate how many outputs you can afford. The prompt’s current model and cost, along with the number of generations the request will create, are the relevant figures.

What Flow credit allowances does Google list?
Google’s Flow Help page, accessed in 2026, lists the following allowances. These are Google-published product limits, not independent test results; the year is the access year, not a publication date supplied by Google.
| Account or plan | Listed Flow credits | Refresh and rollover |
|---|---|---|
| No Google AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra subscription | 50 daily credits | Daily credits refresh after the first generation; unused daily credits do not roll over. |
| Google AI Plus | 200 additional monthly credits | Monthly plan credits refresh at the start of the billing cycle; unused monthly Flow credits do not roll over. |
| Google AI Pro | 1,000 additional monthly credits | Monthly plan credits refresh at the start of the billing cycle; unused monthly Flow credits do not roll over. |
| Google AI Ultra at $100 | 10,000 additional monthly credits | Monthly plan credits refresh at the start of the billing cycle; unused monthly Flow credits do not roll over. |
| Google AI Ultra at $200 | 25,000 additional monthly credits | Monthly plan credits refresh at the start of the billing cycle; unused monthly Flow credits do not roll over. |
These plan amounts and reset rules are listed in Google Flow Help. Verify the account’s actual plan, allowance, and next refresh in the product rather than assuming a displayed total consists entirely of one credit type.

Do Google Flow credits roll over?
Google says unused daily Flow credits do not roll over, and unused monthly Flow plan credits do not roll over. Daily credits refresh after the first generation; monthly credits refresh at the start of the billing cycle. Purchased AI credits are distinct: their expiration, if any, is governed by the terms shown when they are acquired. Check those terms for the specific purchase rather than applying the plan-credit rollover rule to purchased credits. Google Flow Help Google One Help

Additional AI credit purchases are available only to eligible plans and supported regions, with exclusions. On a family-shared plan, some credits may be shared, but Google identifies the plan manager as the person who can purchase more credits or change the plan. Seeing a shared balance does not make every family member the purchaser. Confirm your role and account billing route before attempting a top-up. Google One Help Google One Help

Check these five things before confirming a generation or top-up
- Account and access: Identify the Google account that will run the task and check its plan and Flow access. Eligibility can depend on age verification, a supported region, and, for Workspace users, a qualifying plan. Google Flow Help
- Model and displayed cost: In Flow’s prompt settings, inspect the selected model and the credit cost before confirming. Treat the displayed cost as the operative estimate, not a hand-calculated per-request figure. Google Flow Help
- Credit type and refresh: Check the remaining Flow and AI credit balances and the next refresh date. Subscribers can review usage details if the balance does not match what they expected. Google Flow Help Google One Help
- Purchase eligibility and authority: If credits are needed, confirm that the account and region qualify and that you are authorized to buy them. Review the amount and the purchase’s expiration terms. Google One Help
- Auto-reload and confirmation: Check whether auto-reload is enabled and what threshold and payment confirmation apply before relying on a top-up. Google describes auto-reload as automatically topping up the AI credit balance when it falls below a set minimum threshold. Use the account’s current purchase controls and confirmation as the point to authorize spend. Google One Help
