To host Endless Rise Remastered, use the dedicated Endless Rise Remastered ServerPack v1.3.0 with Minecraft 1.16.5 and Forge 36.2.34. Do not use Fabric, a different Minecraft release, or an unmodified client folder as the server. Every player must install the same pack release, Minecraft version, and Forge loader. Players outside your home network also need access to the server’s configured port, usually 25565.

What Endless Rise Remastered requires
Endless Rise Remastered is a large progression pack for Minecraft 1.16.5. Its CurseForge description attributes to TheBarMaxx a design built around evolution from primitive technology to space, with more than 600 quests, more than 1,000 changed recipes, custom items, and custom designs. The official listing recorded 103,007 total downloads when captured in 2026.
The files index recorded version 1.3.0, uploaded June 28, 2026, and listed a separate server-pack archive. That separation matters: the client download contains files intended for a player’s game, while a dedicated server needs the server-pack artifact and its server-oriented layout.

Download the two matching artifacts
For each player
Install the client archive named Endless-Rise-Remastered-v1.3.0.zip (or the equivalent v1.3.0 client file shown in the pack’s files list). The launcher or pack manager must run it with Minecraft 1.16.5 and Forge 36.2.34. A player using an older 1.2.x release, a newer release, Fabric, or another Forge build is not running the same client as the server.
For the server
Download Endless Rise Remastered ServerPack v1.3.0.zip from the same release family. Keep the archive alongside the installation notes until the server is confirmed to work; this makes it easier to rebuild a clean directory if files are accidentally deleted or overwritten.

Modpacks.ch identifies Forge 36.2.34 for the 1.16.5 setup and explicitly warns against blindly uploading the ordinary client folder as a dedicated server. Treat that warning as a hard compatibility rule, not a suggestion. A client folder can contain launcher metadata, client-only settings, or a layout that a server process does not expect.
Self-hosted installation, step by step
1. Pin the release before creating folders
Write down the exact release you intend to run: v1.3.0 in this guide. Do not start by copying a random client instance and trying to repair it later. The server and all clients should be tied to the same release number from the beginning.
2. Prepare a clean server directory
Create a new, dedicated folder on the machine that will remain online. Avoid placing it inside a player’s launcher instance, Downloads folder, or an existing vanilla server directory. Give the account running Minecraft read and write access to the folder and enough free storage for the world, logs, configuration files, and future backups.

A clean directory is also a recovery tool. If a test installation becomes confused, stop the process, move the directory aside, and recreate it from the Forge server installation plus the matching ServerPack archive rather than trying to identify every stray file.

Install the server side of Minecraft 1.16.5 using Forge 36.2.34, following the Forge installer’s server option. Do not select Fabric and do not silently accept a different Forge build offered by a launcher or host panel. Keep the installer output in the new server directory or in a clearly documented staging location so the version can be checked later.
After installation, confirm that the directory contains the Forge server files before adding the modpack. If the installer reports a different Minecraft or Forge version, stop and correct that selection; adding the pack first will not make an incompatible loader work.
4. Unpack the dedicated ServerPack
Extract the contents of Endless Rise Remastered ServerPack v1.3.0.zip into the Forge server directory, preserving its folder structure. The server pack’s configuration, scripts, mods, and overrides need to remain together. Do not drag only the mods folder, and do not overwrite the server pack with files copied from a player’s client instance.
If your archive utility asks whether to merge directories, allow the server-pack directories to merge into the clean Forge installation. If it asks to replace files, review the paths first; a replacement that removes a Forge-generated file can prevent startup. When in doubt, rebuild the clean directory and extract again instead of mixing multiple releases.

5. Launch once to generate files
Start the Forge server with the supplied server script or the launch command created by the server installation. The first run normally creates the world, logs, configuration files, and eula.txt. It may stop or refuse to continue until the EULA is accepted; that is expected for a first launch.
Watch the console for the actual Forge and Minecraft versions. A startup line showing a release other than 1.16.5 or Forge 36.2.34 is evidence that the wrong installation is being launched, even if the folder name looks correct.
6. Accept the EULA deliberately
- Stop the server process after the first run finishes generating
eula.txt. - Open
eula.txt, read the license text, and change the acceptance setting as required by the file. - Save the file without changing its name or location.
- Start the server again with the supplied script or command.
Accepting the EULA is a standard requirement in the general modded-server workflow. If the server still says the EULA has not been accepted, check that you edited the file in the active server directory, rather than a backup or an old test folder.
7. Let world generation finish
Leave the process running until the console reports that the server is ready for connections. The first world can take longer than subsequent starts because the pack contains many mods, recipes, quests, and custom assets. Do not repeatedly kill the process during this stage; premature termination can leave an incomplete world or configuration write.
8. Record the address and port
For players on the same local network, give them the host computer’s local address and the server’s configured port. For players on the internet, the router and host firewall must permit inbound traffic to that port and forward it to the machine running Minecraft. General modded-server guidance identifies 25565 as the usual default, but the value in your server configuration is authoritative.

Make the server reachable from outside your network
Check the server’s configured port
Open the server properties or host control panel and identify the port the process is actually listening on. If you changed it from 25565, players must use the new value and the forwarding rule must use the same value. A correct modpack installation cannot compensate for a closed or misdirected port.
Allow the port through the host firewall
Create an inbound rule for the configured Minecraft port and the protocol used by your server setup. Apply the rule to the network profile where the host is connected. If the server works for a local player but not an external one, the host firewall is one of the first checks.

Forward the port on the router
Give the server computer a stable local address, then forward the configured port from the router to that address. Avoid forwarding to a laptop or desktop whose local address changes after a reboot. Test from outside the home network, such as a friend’s connection or a mobile hotspot; a test from the same LAN can succeed even when internet forwarding is broken.
Share only the connection details players need
Give friends the public address and port, not the private router address. Do not publish administrative credentials, file-sharing links, or the server directory. If your internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT, ordinary router forwarding may not provide a reachable public endpoint; in that case, use a network arrangement that supplies an externally reachable address or choose managed hosting.
Keep every client synchronized
Each player must install all three matching values: Endless Rise Remastered v1.3.0, Minecraft 1.16.5, and Forge 36.2.34. The managed-host workflow documented by VeryGames likewise tells players to install the version corresponding to the server.

When updating, stop the server, back up the world and configuration directories, change the server release, and have every player change at the same time. Do not update one client first and ask it to join an unchanged server. Keep a note of the old release so you can restore the previous files if the update causes a problem.

A managed provider can handle Java installation, file deployment, restarts, storage, and network exposure. VeryGames documents a control-panel workflow: choose Endless Rise Remastered, choose the version, and create the installation. Its instructions say that, after a short installation wait, the server is installed on the selected modpack.
- Open the provider’s modpack or game-installation selector.
- Select Endless Rise Remastered, not a similarly named pack.
- Select the exact release you intend to run, such as v1.3.0.
- Create the installation and wait for the panel to finish deploying it.
- Confirm in the panel that Minecraft 1.16.5, Forge 36.2.34, and the v1.3.0 server files are being used.
- Give players the corresponding v1.3.0 client instructions.
Before paying for a host, verify that it supports the exact 1.16.5 Forge release and the v1.3.0 ServerPack. A provider may list the pack while offering only a newer loader, a different release, or a one-click installer that does not expose the files you need to troubleshoot.
Troubleshooting by symptom
The server will not start
- Confirm the installation is Minecraft 1.16.5 with Forge 36.2.34.
- Check that the launch script points to this server directory, not an older test folder.
- Rebuild the directory from a clean Forge server installation and the v1.3.0 ServerPack if client files or another release were copied into it.
- Read the first meaningful error in the console or log after stopping the process; later errors can be consequences of the original failure.
The console asks for the EULA repeatedly
- Stop the process before editing
eula.txt. - Make sure the acceptance setting is saved in the directory used by the launch script.
- Check file permissions if the setting reverts after every start.
Players receive a mod-list or registry mismatch
- Compare the server’s pack release with every client’s release.
- Verify Minecraft 1.16.5 on both sides.
- Verify Forge 36.2.34 on both sides.
- Remove the mismatched client instance and reinstall the exact v1.3.0 client files rather than adding individual mods by hand.
Players on the internet cannot connect
- Confirm the server is running and listening on its configured port.
- Check the host firewall rule.
- Check router forwarding to the correct local machine.
- Ensure players are using the public address and correct port.
- Remember that 25565 is only the usual default; a custom port must be used everywhere.
A player can join locally but not remotely
The pack is probably loading correctly. Concentrate on the network path: firewall, router forwarding, changing local address, public address, or carrier-grade NAT. Test from a genuinely external connection before changing mods or configuration.
The server broke after changing files
Stop the server and restore the last known-good world and configuration backup. If no backup exists, recreate the server files from the matching ServerPack and preserve the world directory before trying further changes. Change one category at a time—pack release, configuration, or network settings—so the next failure has a clear cause.
Backups and routine administration
Back up before changing mods, configuration, Forge versions, or pack releases. Stop the server first so world and configuration files are not being written while copied. Include the world directories, configuration directories, scripts, and any provider-specific settings needed to recreate the instance.
The pack pages do not publish a required backup schedule, RAM allocation, CPU specification, player limit, or Java version. Treat those as deployment variables rather than promises. Start with the player count you expect, monitor memory use, tick time, storage growth, and crash logs, and verify the current Java and Forge requirements for the exact 1.16.5 build you deploy.
Keep at least one backup outside the live server directory. Label backups with the pack release and date, and test that an archive can actually be restored before relying on it. A backup that contains only the world but not the configuration and scripts may not reproduce the running server.
