What Ender’s Journey: Beyond The End is
ArcaneAlloy’s project describes Ender’s Journey: Beyond The End as an exploration-and-combat modpack with new mechanics, RPG-style progression and a Hero role. Its listed categories are Adventure and RPG, Map Based, Hardcore, Vanilla+ and Magic. The official project listing identifies Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge as the required game and mod loader versions.
The pack is not simply a collection of independent mods. Its central objective and dimension gates are part of the intended map progression. A server can therefore appear to be running normally while still being incorrectly installed if the map, configuration, scripts or server overrides do not match the selected release.

CurseForge’s release archive shows continuing 1.19.2 Forge development. A BETA 0.3.9 release was uploaded on August 27, 2026, while the archive also contains server-pack entries, including an earlier “Beyond The End – BETA 0.3.4 Serverpack.zip.” A third-party modpacks.ch index lists BETA 0.4.6 with Forge 43.5.2 and 327 referenced mods. Those entries are release-specific; they are not permission to combine the 0.4.6 mod list with a 0.3.x server archive.
How the 24-Eye progression works
The pack’s official description makes the Ender Eyes the progression currency. The thresholds below describe access gates, not a recommendation to skip exploration or alter the map.

ArcaneAlloy explains that players place the Eyes they have collected on different pillars in the final room; once all 24 are placed, the portal to The Ethereal Abyss opens. Treat that room as a progression checkpoint. A missing or duplicated Eye, a restored partial backup, or a changed map package can leave a group unable to advance even when the server itself starts.

Before installing: choose one release and make a plan
Write down the exact release number you intend to run, the Minecraft version, the Forge build shown for that release and the date of the server backup. This small record prevents the most common update mistake: downloading the newest client files while leaving an older server pack in place.
Choose a stable target for your group
- Use the same named beta or release for the server and every client.
- Prefer a release that has a published server-pack archive; this gives you the intended server-side overrides and file layout.
- Do not infer compatibility from the number of listed mods. The 327-mod figure in the BETA 0.4.6 index is a reference count, not a performance guarantee.
- Record which world is live and which folder is the staging copy. Never test an update by overwriting the only world backup.
Prepare the players
Have every player install the matching client pack before the server is opened. A player on a different pack version can be rejected during connection or can load different recipes, dimensions or progression data. Ask players to close the game completely after changing versions so the launcher does not retain an old profile or cached instance.
Step-by-step server setup
- Select the exact Beyond The End release. Confirm that its listing says Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge, and note the release identifier in your server notes.
- Download the corresponding server pack. When the release archive supplies a server-pack file, use that archive. Do not upload a regular client instance as a substitute; client-only files and server overrides can be different.
- Provision a clean server directory. Create a new directory or a fresh hosted-server instance rather than copying over an unrelated Forge world. Keep the downloaded archive unchanged as a rollback reference.
- Install the Forge build expected by that release. Follow the installation method offered by your host or launcher and verify that the resulting server profile identifies Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge. If the panel asks for a loader version, select the release’s documented value, not simply the newest Forge option.
- Extract the server-pack contents into the server directory. Preserve the archive’s folders, configuration files, scripts and overrides. Avoid renaming files to make them resemble another release.
- Accept the game’s account agreement in the server configuration. Start the server once, apply the required agreement setting, then start it again. The exact control-panel label varies, so use the panel’s documented setting rather than editing unrelated files.
- Let the first start finish. A modded server may create configuration and library files on its first launch. Stop it cleanly after generation completes and inspect the startup log for a normal Forge launch and missing-file or dependency errors.
- Install the same client release for each player. Compare the release name and Forge build in each launcher profile with the values recorded for the server.
- Make a staging world. Copy the live world, or generate a separate test world using the same server files. Keep this copy isolated from the production save.
- Test the progression gates. In staging, check the starting Overworld portal, the eight-Eye Nether gate, the 16-Eye End gate and the 24-Eye pillar room. This is an operational safeguard, not a claim that a particular release has been independently tested here.
- Back up before inviting players. Stop the server, copy the world and configuration folders, label the backup with the release and date, then start the live instance.
Updating without breaking a world
Modpack updates can change registry entries, recipes, scripts or dimension data. The safest workflow is a reversible migration, not an in-place overwrite.

- Announce a maintenance window and stop the server cleanly.
- Make a complete backup of the world, server configuration, scripts, mods and the current server-pack archive.
- Read the target release notes and download its matching server pack. Keep the old archive until the new world has been validated.
- Build a separate staging instance with the new client release, Forge build and server files.
- Copy a backup of the live world into staging. Never use the only original save for conversion testing.
- Start staging and inspect the log for missing dependencies, failed data conversions or dimension-registration errors.
- Check player inventories, the Eye count, the Nether and End gates, the final-room pillars and The Ethereal Abyss portal.
- Have at least one player connect with the new client profile and visit the areas that matter to your group.
- Only after the checks pass, repeat the upgrade on the live instance. Keep the old server directory and backup available for rollback.
- Require every player to update before reconnecting. A server upgrade with mixed client releases is not a supported test of compatibility.
Hosting options and how to evaluate them
Managed hosting can remove manual Forge installation, but a one-click label does not prove that a provider supports your exact beta release. Two providers are evidenced as offering this pack: VeryGames advertises an Ender’s Journey – Beyond The End preset and describes installation, creation and updates from its panel; BoxToPlay presents the modpack as an installable hosted Minecraft server.
Before paying, ask support to confirm the precise release, Forge build and server-pack archive they will deploy. Also ask how to upload a custom server pack if the preset lags behind the release you selected.

No fixed RAM or CPU number can be guaranteed from the available evidence. The BETA 0.4.6 index’s 327 referenced mods is a count of entries, not a benchmark. Actual needs depend on the exact release, world, view distance, player count, exploration pattern and host configuration. Start with a plan that exposes resource usage and a straightforward upgrade path rather than choosing solely by mod count.

Troubleshooting common server failures
Clients are refused during connection
Compare the client’s Minecraft version, Forge build and pack release with the server record. Check for an accidental second instance in the launcher and remove old profiles from the connection test. If only one player fails, have that player reinstall the exact client release; if everyone fails after an update, verify that the server was rebuilt from the matching server pack.

This usually indicates a loader or file-layout problem. Confirm that the startup profile is Forge for Minecraft 1.19.2 and that the server-pack folders were extracted at the server root rather than nested inside an extra directory. Stop the server before correcting files, then start it again and inspect the log for the expected mod loading phase.
A mod or dependency is reported missing
Do not copy a random jar from another beta. Re-download the exact server pack, compare its contents with the release archive and remove manually added files that are not part of the selected release. The client must receive the same release’s files as well.
The Nether or The End remains locked
Check the Eye count in the staging copy and confirm that the map and progression data came from the intended release. Test with a fresh character or a clean copy of the world to distinguish a progression-state issue from a global installation issue. Do not edit live progression data until a backup exists and you understand the pack’s expected gate behavior.
The Ethereal Abyss portal does not open
Return to the final room in a backup copy and verify that all 24 Eyes have been placed on the designated pillars. A partially restored world or a missing pillar block can make the room look complete while leaving the requirement unmet. Validate the room on the same release that created the world.

First identify whether the problem appears at startup, when players join, or during exploration. Record the number of players, active dimensions and view-distance settings, then check the host’s CPU, memory and storage graphs. Mod count alone cannot diagnose the cause; compare the same world and player load after reducing a setting or moving to a plan with more headroom.
An update damages the world
Stop the server immediately and preserve the affected directory. Restore the pre-update backup rather than repeatedly starting the damaged save. Recreate the migration in staging, using the target release’s server pack and a copy of the backup, and only retry on live after the progression and dimension checks pass.
Server administration checklist
- Record the Minecraft 1.19.2 version, Forge build and Beyond The End release in a shared note.
- Keep the client archive, server-pack archive and release notes together.
- Back up before every update and before testing a new dimension or configuration.
- Maintain a separate staging world for progression checks.
- Require all players to use one matching client profile.

- Keep at least one known-good server directory for rollback.
- Monitor actual CPU, memory and storage use instead of estimating from the mod count.
