It is a less obvious fit as your only stroller if daily outings involve rough or uneven paths, you expect to carry a lot in the stroller, or seat cushioning is a priority. Edwards & Co’s use guide advises care on uneven surfaces and higher slopes because of tipping risk, and one customer reviewer described the seat as hard and lacking cushioning.
Current limits and older test-record figures
The numbers differ by source and date. Edwards & Co’s current product information and use guide state a 22 kg child limit. CHOICE’s page records figures from a 2019 test, including a 20 kg limit; it should not be read as an independent test of the current specification. The reason for the difference is not established by those pages.

Keep the columns separate when comparing listings or older reviews: the CHOICE figures describe its 2019 record, while Edwards & Co’s stated limits and warranty are current product information. Edwards & Co also says the Otto meets AS/NZS 2088:2022; that is the manufacturer’s statement, not an independent certification claim in this review.
Newborn use, recline and comfort
The manufacturer says the Otto is suitable from newborn only when the seat is fully reclined. Check that the seat is in that position before using it for a newborn, and follow the Otto guide for setup and operation.

Comfort is a point to assess in person if possible. One reviewer described the seat as hard and lacking cushioning, but that is an individual account, not evidence that every child will find it uncomfortable. The available information does not establish a comparative comfort score or detailed recline positions beyond the newborn requirement.

Customer accounts often praise the compact fold and ease of packing. Some reviewers say the stroller fitted in an aircraft overhead compartment, but that does not establish that an airline will accept it as cabin baggage. Rules and available space can vary by airline, aircraft and route.

Edwards & Co says a travel bag is included. Before flying, check the current stroller dimensions and weight against your carrier’s baggage and gate-check rules, and confirm whether the bag changes how the item must be handled. Do not rely on another traveller’s overhead-bin experience as a guarantee.
Storage and useful accessories
The basket is limited to 2 kg and the canopy pocket to 1 kg under the current use guide. These are modest load limits, so plan for essentials rather than using the stroller to carry extra bags. The manufacturer warns against carrying extra children or bags on the stroller.

Edwards & Co lists an Otto Cup Holder, Otto Rain Cover, Otto Sun Cover, Stroller Organiser, Luxe Liner and Sleeping Bag as compatible accessories. Compatibility and what is included can depend on the current product version; the travel bag is stated to come with the stroller, rather than being an accessory you necessarily need to buy separately.
Safe use and care
- Secure the child in the harness at all times.
- Apply the brake whenever the stroller is stationary.
- Do not leave a child unattended, carry extra children, or hang or place extra bags on the stroller.
- Take care on uneven ground and higher slopes, where the guide warns of increased tipping risk.
- Do not use the stroller as a cot or bed.
- Avoid beach use and salt water: the guide warns that moisture, sand and salt may corrode parts, and says environmental corrosion is not covered by the warranty.
- Follow the guide’s recommendation to have the stroller serviced at least every six months.
What customer ratings can and cannot tell you
ProductReview.com.au displayed a 4.9 rating from 33 reviews when accessed in 2026. That is a user-review aggregate, not a representative study or a controlled product test. Folding convenience and travel use come up in individual positive reports, while at least one reviewer raised seat-cushioning concerns. Treat those comments as prompts for what to check against your own needs, not as guaranteed outcomes.

Who should choose the Otto?
The Otto is worth considering if a compact fold, a manufacturer-stated 22 kg capacity and a supplied travel bag match your plans, and your usual routes are reasonably smooth. Look elsewhere or compare carefully if you need a proven cabin-bag fit, a stroller for frequent rough-ground use, more carrying capacity, or assured plush cushioning. Before buying, verify the current version, dimensions, included items and warranty with Edwards & Co, then check any airline requirements directly with your carrier.
