EarBliss is a browser-based music player that began as Tayyaba Shaikh’s attempt to make a Spotify clone and evolved into a smaller, independent music-app project. Shaikh says its final version contains 18 songs and describes features for finding and organizing music, controlling playback, and keeping a player visible while browsing. The project article presents EarBliss as its own concept—not as a replacement for Spotify.
How the Spotify-clone idea became EarBliss
In a DEV Community post published September 30, 2026, project author Tayyaba Shaikh describes starting with the goal of making a Spotify clone, then changing direction toward an original music player. “I originally wanted to make a Spotify clone. Somewhere along the way, I stopped trying to make a Spotify clone and started building my own music player,” Shaikh writes.

That shift matters when interpreting the project: the post documents a browser-based player concept and its interface, rather than claiming parity with Spotify. Shaikh puts it plainly: “It’s definitely not Spotify, and that wasn’t really the point anymore.”
What EarBliss includes
Shaikh describes a dark interface with purple and green accents, rounded cards, and a sidebar. The reported feature set covers several parts of a music-player experience:

Shaikh reports that the final version contains 18 songs. That is the author’s stated count for this project; the post does not establish a broader catalog size or compare it with a commercial service.
What the project article does not establish
The post describes EarBliss as browser-based but does not specify whether it streams audio or plays locally stored files, how its music catalog is sourced, or what technologies power the app. It also does not provide hosting or repository details, licensing information, or evidence about accounts, recommendations, or other service-level capabilities.
