Eahora also claims 104–235 miles of range with pedal assist and 70–76 miles without it, but those figures are not independently verified. Its published dual-motor output and speed claims put it far outside the narrow U.S. federal definition of a low-speed electric bicycle, so check the rules for your location before buying or riding one.
How fast does the Romeo Pro III go?
Eahora’s current Romeo Pro III specifications list a top speed of 48–50 mph for pedal assist and throttle. Its product page describes the bike as a 48 mph model. Neither official figure supports the 52 mph number in the title phrase, and no independent speed test was established. Treat 48–50 mph as a manufacturer claim, not a verified test result.

The specification page’s wording is “28+ Mph(48-50mph),” which is not a precise account of test conditions. The product page’s 48 mph description and the specification page’s 48–50 mph range are the clearer figures to use, while recognizing that Eahora has not published an independent test result here.

What range does Eahora claim?
Eahora lists 104–235 miles with pedal assist and 70–76 miles without pedal assist. These are manufacturer-stated ranges, not independently measured outcomes. The wide assisted-range span does not tell a buyer what a particular ride will deliver: distance depends on riding mode and conditions, and the published figures do not establish a single expected real-world range.

Is it legally an electric bicycle in the United States?
Do not assume that a vehicle marketed as an e-bike qualifies as one under the rules where you plan to ride. The federal low-speed electric bicycle definition in 15 U.S.C. § 2085 is limited to a bicycle with fully operable pedals, a motor under 750W, and a motor-only maximum speed below 20 mph under specified test conditions. The Romeo Pro III’s published peak output of 2 × 2,800W and its 48–50 mph speed claim are far beyond those limits.
That federal definition covers a particular consumer-product safety category; it does not by itself settle every state or local vehicle classification. Before riding, check applicable rules for roads and paths, vehicle registration, and helmet requirements. A vehicle’s classification and permitted use may depend on the jurisdiction.

The available CPSC bicycle-helmet rules are in 16 CFR Part 1203, but the reviewed information does not establish which helmet type is suitable or legally required for a vehicle with the Romeo Pro III’s claimed speed. Do not infer that an ordinary bicycle helmet is adequate at 50 mph; check local requirements and seek guidance appropriate to the vehicle and its intended use.
What should you check before riding or charging?
CPSC advises riders to follow local traffic laws, wear a helmet, and inspect the bike before riding. Its recommended checks include the handlebars, brakes, throttle, lights, tires, cables, and frame. For a heavy, high-speed model, fit, handling, and a safe place to store and charge it also deserve attention before purchase.

Eahora lists a 67.2V, 7A charger and an 8–12 hour charge time for this model.

Are replacement batteries or electrical modifications interchangeable?
No compatibility conclusion should be drawn from advice about older Romeo Pro or Julet models. Eahora’s FAQ says a 52V battery is electrically incompatible with the original 48V controller system on that older configuration, and warns against unvalidated electrical modifications. Those older-model voltage details do not establish the Romeo Pro III’s specifications or compatibility.

Ask Eahora to confirm compatibility for the exact Romeo Pro III version before replacing a battery, charger, or other electrical part. Older-model FAQ guidance about speed-limit settings or display calibration likewise does not establish this model’s configuration, achieved speed, or legal status; it is not evidence that unlocking the bike is safe or lawful.
What the published figures do—and do not—tell you
The manufacturer’s figures give a useful outline of the bike’s claimed capability and listed equipment. They are not substitutes for independent testing: no independent Romeo Pro III speed, range, stopping-distance, battery-certification, or reliability result was established. In particular, the stated range should not be treated as a guaranteed distance, and the listed brake components should not be mistaken for proof of a measured stopping distance.
The 173 lb listed weight includes the 40.5 lb battery. That is a practical consideration for storage, transport, and handling, quite apart from the bike’s speed and range claims.
