When does Dungeon Munchies 2 come out?
The announced Early Access launch date is November 6, 2026, for PC via Steam. Gematsu reported the date and platform on October 5, 2026, while maJAJa’s Steam store page provides the game’s listing and Early Access details. A date announcement is not the same as a live store release: the listing captured for this article continued to display “Coming soon.”

What is Dungeon Munchies 2?
Dungeon Munchies 2 is maJAJa’s sequel to the side-scrolling action RPG Dungeon Munchies. The Steam description centers on a zombie chef, the necromancer Simmer, and cooking extraterrestrial monsters. It combines combat and adventure with collecting and cooking creatures to boost the character, set against a story about exploring the frontiers of extraterrestrial cuisine.

What will the Early Access version include?
The launch build
maJAJa says the first Early Access build will include the first chapter of the story and about two to three hours of gameplay. That is the developer’s estimate for the initial build, not a promise about total playtime after future updates.
Planned additions
The developer plans to add further story chapters, levels, character abilities, enemies, and story content during development. It estimates the Early Access period will last roughly two to three years. These are plans and estimates, not a guaranteed content list or end date.

Why is the game launching in Early Access?
maJAJa says it wants player feedback to shape balance and improvements, drawing on its experience developing the first game. The developer identifies Steam Community and Discord as the main places for feedback. As it puts it on the Steam store page: “We need player feedback to help bring Dungeon Munchies 2 to its fully cooked state, just like we did during the development of the first Dungeon Munchies.”

The choice depends on whether you are comfortable starting with a short, incomplete chapter and following development over time. The developer says the opening build offers about two to three hours of gameplay, with more content planned across an estimated two-to-three-year Early Access period.
