What “DroidCam Classic” means
DroidCam sends a phone’s camera video to computer applications such as video-call software or OBS. Windows: current client or Classic v6
If you have Windows 10 or 11 and an x64 or ARM64 computer, the official download page lists DroidCam Client v7.2. Do not treat that listing as a Classic download. The help page points users on older Windows versions to Classic client v6; check the official help page for the relevant legacy guidance before installing.

Android: be cautious with APK searches
Because the Classic Android app is a distinct generation, confirm the app name and version through Dev47Apps’ official channels. The reviewed official pages do not verify a current standalone Classic APK. A download hosted by an APK mirror is not thereby an official Dev47Apps release, so do not rely on a mirror’s “Classic” label as proof of authenticity or compatibility.
iOS: one app for both client generations
Dev47Apps says its iOS app works with both classic and new clients. The Classic distinction therefore does not require a separate iOS client according to the official help information.

Linux: beta client and OBS option
Dev47Apps’ Linux instructions cover Debian/Ubuntu and Fedora/RHEL setup routes and also recommend the DroidCam OBS plugin as an easy option. The page describes the client as beta; it does not identify a Classic Linux client. For the beta client to expose video to other applications, the instructions say v4l2loopback is needed. Follow the Linux setup details.
Connect the phone to your computer
Dev47Apps documents Wi-Fi and USB. Choose based on your setup: Wi-Fi avoids a wired connection, while USB requires a suitable data cable. On Android, USB setup requires USB debugging; on Linux, the setup instructions require adb. The specific steps can vary by platform and client, so follow the matching official instructions.

Wi-Fi
- Install the appropriate official phone app and computer client or plugin for your platform.
- Connect the phone and computer to the same network so they can discover one another.
- If automatic discovery fails, use the manual Wi-Fi IP entry described in Dev47Apps’ help instructions.
USB
- Use a cable that supports a reliable data connection, not just charging.
- For Android, enable USB debugging as directed in the official help instructions; Linux setup also uses
adb. - Connect the phone directly and follow the client’s setup prompts. Dev47Apps advises using a cable in good condition and secure USB ports for a stable connection.
Free use and Pro features
Dev47Apps describes free unlimited standard-definition use with core features. The help page associates Pro with additional options and removing watermarks from HD video.
