Yes—the reviewed DreamQuest N100 mini PC ran several Linux distributions without additional drivers, including Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Arch, openSUSE, and Devuan. The tested configuration had an Intel N100 processor, 16GB of DDR4 memory, and a 512GB M.2 SSD. It is a flexible option for everyday computing or a light home server, but its fan is audible and the exact hardware can vary by listing or batch.
Which Linux distributions work on the DreamQuest N100?
LinuxLinks reports testing Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Ubuntu 24.10, along with Arch, Devuan, Fedora, openSUSE, and Debian. The reviewer said the tested hardware worked across those distributions without extra drivers. Ubuntu 24.10 is included as historical test context, not as a current release recommendation. That result applies to the review unit. Wireless cards, firmware, SSDs, memory, and cooling may differ between batches, so it does not establish that every DreamQuest N100 listing will behave identically. Check the seller’s exact configuration before buying or installing Linux.

The review’s introduction reports two memory slots, with one 16GB DDR4 module installed and expansion to 32GB. It also reports two M.2 2280 slots that support SATA and PCIe 3.0 SSDs. LinuxLinks’ hardware overview
Before ordering replacement parts, confirm the precise memory type, maximum capacity, SSD interface, and available slots in the listing for the specific unit. The review’s configuration is useful evidence about that machine, but it is not a guarantee that every batch has identical components.

Is it suitable for a home server or homelab?
The reported combination of two RJ45 Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.2, and expandable memory and storage makes the machine potentially useful for file serving, media hosting, home automation, or light container workloads. Those are practical fits for a compact four-core system; the review does not establish performance benchmarks for particular server applications. LinuxLinks’ hardware overview
The evidence does not support treating this model as a strong choice for modern gaming, professional video editing, large databases, sustained compilation, or running several virtual machines at once. Match the workload to the modest four-core processor and verify the network, storage, and memory configuration of the specific listing.

How hot and noisy is it?
In the review’s stress test, loading all four cores brought the processor to about 55°C. The reviewer also reported that the fan ran continuously and was audible from one metre in a very quiet room; BIOS fan-profile controls had no practical effect in that test. These observations describe the reviewed unit and conditions, not a guaranteed result for every batch. LinuxLinks’ thermal and noise findings
What to verify before buying
There is no single configuration established for every DreamQuest N100 listing. Check the live seller listing for:
- Installed RAM type, capacity, slot count, and stated maximum.
- SSD model, capacity, interface, and whether the second M.2 slot is present.
- Wireless hardware, Ethernet ports, BIOS revision, and included operating system.
- Current price and warranty terms, which can vary by seller and were not established for a canonical SKU.
For comparison with another N100 mini PC, assess the actual memory and SSD configuration, M.2 slot types, Ethernet count and speed, wireless module, display outputs, Linux firmware behavior, sustained thermals, fan noise, and upgrade access. Avoid assuming that a shared processor name means the systems are otherwise equivalent.
