AMD has named Medusa as a future client-processor family and gave a 2027 roadmap expectation, but its reviewed official materials do not confirm Zen 6 CPU cores, RDNA 5 integrated graphics, or a 2.5D chiplet interconnect. Those details should be treated as unverified claims—not product specifications—until AMD publishes documentation that establishes them.
What AMD has confirmed about Medusa
AMD’s investor-relations materials include Medusa among its next-generation client processors. In a 2025 corporate blog, AMD described the family as upcoming and said it expected Medusa in 2027. That is a roadmap expectation made at the time of publication, not a guaranteed launch date or confirmation of current availability. AMD’s roadmap announcement and its 2025 blog post do not establish the specific architecture claims in the headline.

AMD’s blog also said the company had more than 250 AI PC platforms in market and expected up to 10x performance improvement from first-generation Ryzen AI to the upcoming Medusa family. These are AMD’s portfolio figure and company expectation, respectively; the latter is not an independently established result or a direct CPU or GPU benchmark. Neither figure specifies Medusa’s CPU cores, integrated graphics, or package design. AMD’s 2025 blog post
Are Zen 6, RDNA 5 and 2.5D interconnect confirmed?
No. The official materials reviewed do not confirm that Medusa uses Zen 6 CPU cores, RDNA 5 integrated graphics, or a 2.5D interconnect. Without an AMD product brief, technical document, or launch announcement supporting those details, they remain unverified reporting or rumor. They should not be presented as settled specifications.

AMD’s architecture page explains that its Zen design approach uses processor chiplets and that additional chiplets can be added to a package for higher-performance models. The Ryzen and EPYC generation tables on that page list Zen 5 as the latest generation shown. This describes AMD’s documented approach and listed products; it does not establish the architecture or package design of Medusa. AMD’s Zen architecture overview
What AMD’s existing CPU and graphics pairings tell us
AMD has publicly described previous processor families that combine CPU and graphics technologies. In a 2022 roadmap announcement, it described Phoenix Point as a planned combination of Zen 4 CPU cores and RDNA 3 graphics, alongside discussion of chiplets and high-speed interconnect approaches. That precedent shows AMD has discussed CPU and graphics pairings and packaging concepts for earlier products; it is not evidence that Medusa will use RDNA 5 or a 2.5D design. AMD’s 2026 annual report says Ryzen AI 300 mobile processors use Zen 5 and RDNA 3.5 graphics. The report also discusses newer Ryzen AI 400 products, a reminder that older roadmap descriptions do not by themselves establish current product status. Neither the Ryzen AI 300 pairing nor the newer portfolio discussion confirms Medusa specifications. AMD’s 2026 Form 10-K

The cited official materials do not establish Medusa’s exact CPU architecture, core layout, graphics architecture or configuration, interconnect implementation, SKU lineup, or launch timing beyond AMD’s historical 2027 expectation. They also do not specify a socket, memory support, power targets, price, or retail availability. There are no verified retail Medusa configurations in these materials to compare.

Once AMD publishes product specifications, a useful comparison will need to be made by exact SKU and market segment. Relevant details include CPU architecture and core layout, integrated graphics generation and configuration, package and interconnect design, memory support, power targets, platform compatibility, and availability. Until those details are documented, filling them in from leaks risks confusing speculation with a confirmed product.
