Is Dragon Ball Super: Beerus a remake or a new series?
Toei Animation describes it as an “ENHANCED edition” of Dragon Ball Super. The edition adds and redraws many cuts, reconstructs the narrative and updates the visual presentation, including the battles. That makes it a newly presented version of existing story material rather than a wholly new series premise. Toei’s official series overview describes the changes.
The story begins several years after the battle with Majin Buu. Beerus, the God of Destruction, wakes from a long period of peace and hears about the Saiyan who defeated Frieza. He seeks out Goku, and the encounter puts Earth in danger. The Japanese broadcaster listing names Masako Nozawa as Goku and Koichi Yamadera as Beerus. What are the theme songs and premiere events?
The opening theme is “ONOGAMI” by MEGATERA・ZERO, and the ending theme is “Kan Peki No Peki” by VK Blanka. The September announcement also introduced a “Super Surge” visual and trailer featuring new footage. The official Dragon Ball announcement gives the theme and promotional details.

Where are the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus ads?
Siliconera reported on October 5 that the Japan campaign includes branded trucks in Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Sapporo and Tokyo from October 5–11, 2026, as well as train-station placements. The same report says show-branded buses will appear in Los Angeles and New York City and that ads will run at 30 U.S. malls. It does not give exact U.S. campaign dates.
