Is the new content free or paid?
The Dragon Ball Official Site says the free update content can be played without owning Super Limit-Breaking NEO. The paid DLC includes Limit Breaker Journey and other content. The anniversary announcement also lists new paid DLC with playable characters among future roadmap items; it does not provide a full content list or schedule for those later releases.
What is available now, and on which platforms?
As of Bandai Namco’s 9 October 2026 anniversary announcement, Super Limit-Breaking NEO is available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Its availability on Switch and Switch 2 is later, but the cited announcements do not specify a release date. Bandai Namco cautions that roadmap features and timing vary by platform, so players should check the announcement for their platform rather than assume all versions will receive each feature at the same time.

In its 30 July 2026 notice, Bandai Namco Entertainment America described NEO as including four Episode Battles, four stages, a new solo mode and 33 playable characters. That same notice says the DLC release came with a separate free update adding Sparking Boost and Chain Blast gameplay mechanics and three stage variants. Those July additions are distinct from the newer anniversary roadmap.

The roadmap commits only to a limited beta planned after summer 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Bandai Namco has not announced the beta’s exact date or scope in the anniversary notice, nor confirmed when a full cross-play release will happen. Players should treat the beta plan as an upcoming test, not as confirmation that cross-play is already live or guaranteed to launch in full.

What to expect from the timing
The winter 2026 and around-spring 2027 targets come from the official Dragon Ball roadmap summary published on 9 October 2026. The cross-play beta is described more broadly as planned after summer 2027. The anniversary announcement gives no specific dates for Mission 100 SP, Survival Mode SP, other updates or future paid DLC. Producer Jun Furutani said in a separate 26 January 2026 update, “We will be sharing more details gradually, so please stay tuned for future updates.”
