No. A YouTube Premiere is a scheduled or immediate release of one uploaded video for viewers to watch together; it is not documented as a way to broadcast a playlist continuously. To run a continuous playlist as a live broadcast, use a separate encoder-based live-stream workflow and verify how your source repeats the playlist and handles interruptions.
What a YouTube Premiere does
YouTube describes Premieres as a way for viewers to watch a new video together with its creator and community. You schedule or start a Premiere for an uploaded video; the page can be available before the start, and viewers join for a countdown and shared viewing experience. YouTube’s setup guidance does not describe a playlist as the Premiere’s content unit. YouTube Help: Premiere a new video and YouTube premiere tips.

During the Premiere, viewers can rewind, but cannot fast-forward past what has been shown live. When it ends, the video remains on the channel as a regular upload; YouTube’s Premiere guidance does not describe it restarting or advancing to another playlist item. YouTube Help: Premiere a new video.

| Question | Premiere | Encoder-based live stream |
|---|---|---|
| What is sent or played? | One uploaded video scheduled or premiered immediately. | A live feed sent to YouTube by an encoder. |
| What does YouTube document about playback? | Viewers watch together; after the Premiere, the video remains as a regular upload. | YouTube distinguishes live streams as media broadcast in real time from Premieres of a new video watched with its creator and community. |
| Does the documentation establish playlist looping or 24/7 uptime? | No. | No. You must verify how your source repeats the playlist and recovers from interruptions. |
YouTube documents encoder-based streaming, including sending a feed using a stream URL and stream key. That establishes a way to deliver a live feed; it does not establish that YouTube will loop a playlist for you or keep a particular setup uninterrupted for 24 hours a day. What to do if you want a playlist live continuously
- Choose a source that can produce the feed. You need a workflow that plays the intended video or playlist and sends its output as a live feed. YouTube’s encoder guidance covers the connection to YouTube, not playlist repetition; confirm that your chosen source can loop the playlist as intended.
- Set up the YouTube live stream. Use YouTube’s live-stream settings to obtain the stream URL and key, then configure your encoder to send its feed to YouTube. Treat the key as a credential and do not share it publicly. See Manage live stream settings.
- Test the complete runtime behavior. Confirm that the playlist advances and repeats, the encoder stays connected, and you know how to restore the stream if either the source or connection stops. The cited YouTube guidance does not guarantee these operational details for a specific setup.
- Check the content and intended duration. Make sure you have the rights needed for everything in the playlist and that your planned runtime is supported by your source and workflow. Do not treat a Premiere as a substitute for this test: it is not documented to restart or move to another playlist item.
YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events, but an encoder is one part of a live-stream setup—not, by itself, a playlist player or a guarantee of uninterrupted operation. YouTube live streaming tips – Computer.
Premiere format limits to keep in mind
YouTube’s Premiere guidance says Shorts are not supported for Premieres, and 360/VR180 video or output above 1080p is not supported. These restrictions concern preparing a video for a Premiere; they do not make a Premiere capable of playlist looping. YouTube Help: Premiere a new video.
