YouTube explains how to move a channel between Brand Accounts, but does not say whether live-streaming eligibility is retained or lost. After the move, check whether live streaming is available for the channel rather than assuming access will continue.
What YouTube’s documentation says—and leaves unanswered
YouTube says a channel and its videos can be moved from one Brand Account to another when both Brand Accounts are associated with the same Google Account. Its transfer instructions do not identify live-streaming eligibility as a feature that transfers, or one that is removed. The documentation therefore does not establish either outcome. YouTube’s channel-transfer instructions leave this specific point unanswered.

That is different from saying live-streaming access is guaranteed, or that it is automatically revoked. Treat the channel’s eligibility after the move as something to verify in YouTube Studio.

What determines whether the channel can go live
YouTube’s published live-streaming requirements say the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16 years old. These are the stated requirements; the transfer instructions do not say whether a channel’s prior eligibility status carries over. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.

YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder and console streaming as available methods. Those are ways to produce a stream, not evidence that using particular equipment affects eligibility after a Brand Account move.
Before moving the channel
Check that the transfer prerequisites apply to your account and understand the destination-channel warning before confirming the move. YouTube’s instructions say the person initiating a transfer must be the primary account owner, should opt out of YouTube Studio channel permissions if applicable, and must remove users who have channel permissions before proceeding. Supervised accounts cannot move a channel; school accounts may qualify depending on the transfer qualifications. Review YouTube’s current transfer instructions for the full procedure and requirements.

- Privacy with a Slide: The integrated webcam cover makes it easy to get total, reliable privacy when you're not on a video call

- Easy Plug-And-Play: The Brio 101 works with most video calling platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet—no hassle; it just works
- Confirm the account relationship: the source and destination Brand Accounts must be associated with the same Google Account.
- Check channel permissions: follow YouTube’s instructions about opting out of Studio channel permissions and removing users with channel permissions before the transfer, if those conditions apply.
- Protect the destination channel: choosing “Replace” deletes the existing destination channel and its associated videos, comments, messages, playlists and history. Do not proceed with that option unless you are prepared to lose that destination content.
- Account for source data loss: YouTube also lists source-channel data that is lost in a transfer, including watch and search history. Check the transfer page for the complete list before confirming.
After the move: check eligibility and access separately
- Confirm the channel move completed. Verify that you are using the intended channel under the destination Brand Account.
- Check live-streaming availability for that channel. Use YouTube Studio and follow the current live-stream setup prompts. If access is unavailable, do not infer from the transfer documentation that the move itself caused it; the documentation does not specify how eligibility carries over.
- Check the channel requirements. Confirm the channel is verified and has had no live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days. The person who will stream must be at least 16.
- Check your own role if another person manages the channel. Channel eligibility and an individual user’s permissions are separate issues. YouTube says a Viewer cannot go live or end streams and cannot access the stream key. Review YouTube’s channel-permission roles if the owner can stream but an invited user cannot.
If live streaming is missing after the transfer

- User permissions: if the channel owner has access but you do not, check your Studio role. A Viewer role does not permit going live or accessing the stream key.
- Transfer completion: verify that the move finished and that you are working in the intended channel. If the transfer appears incomplete or the channel is not the expected one, consult YouTube’s transfer guidance before attempting another move.
YouTube’s published transfer page does not explain whether live-streaming eligibility itself transfers. If the channel meets the stated requirements and the move completed but live access is still unavailable, consult YouTube Help or the channel’s Studio prompts; the available documentation does not establish a transfer-specific remedy.
