Yes. Many ULTRALOQ locks pair with an iPhone through the manufacturer’s Xthings Home app, formerly called U home. But using the app is not the same as controlling a lock through Apple Home or unlocking it with Apple Home Key: those features depend on the exact lock model and version.
Can I control an ULTRALOQ lock with my iPhone?
ULTRALOQ’s setup guide supports pairing U-Bolt and Bolt families with an Android or iOS phone using Xthings Home. Its model list also includes UL3, Lever and UL1/Combo. Pair the lock in Xthings Home
- Install Xthings Home on the iPhone and sign in.
- Stand near the lock; ULTRALOQ’s guide recommends a distance of about 3 feet.
- In the app, select the correct lock model and scan for the nearby lock.
- Follow the prompts to set an admin code and complete pairing.
Which ULTRALOQ locks work with Apple Home or Home Key?
Compatibility is model-specific. ULTRALOQ’s comparison page says, “Only Bolt Fingerprint (HomeKit version) supports Apple HomeKit integration.” That statement applies to the models on that comparison page; ULTRALOQ’s HomeKit FAQ also names Bolt Fingerprint (HomeKit version) and Bolt Fingerprint Matter. Separately, ULTRALOQ describes Bolt NFC as compatible with Apple Home and Apple Home Key. Set up Home Key on Bolt NFC
ULTRALOQ’s instructions begin in Apple Home on the iPhone. Add the lock as an accessory by scanning the QR code on the battery cover, then add Home Key to Wallet. The guide says a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch can then be tapped to unlock. This documented setup is specific to Bolt NFC; it does not establish Home Key support for every ULTRALOQ lock. Does ULTRALOQ need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to set up with an iPhone?
For U-Bolt WiFi, U-Bolt Pro WiFi and Latch 5, ULTRALOQ’s setup guide requires the lock and phone to use the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network name; it says 5 GHz is unsupported. This requirement is for those named Wi-Fi models, not every ULTRALOQ lock. What to check before choosing a lock
- For basic iPhone app control, verify that the exact model appears in the Xthings Home setup flow.
- For Apple Home control, confirm the listing names the exact compatible version rather than relying on the U-Bolt or Bolt family name alone.
- For Home Key, look for explicit support for that feature on the exact model; ULTRALOQ documents it for Bolt NFC.
- For Wi-Fi setup, check the model’s band requirements and use the same 2.4 GHz network for the iPhone and lock where the guide specifies it.
