The mod is a PC campaign experience launched through its installer with SteamVR or another PC VR runtime. Its published instructions do not list tested headset models, so compatibility with a particular headset is not guaranteed by the README.
What “VR compatibility” means for Titanfall 2
There are two different things to distinguish: Titanfall 2 itself, which was not released with built-in VR, and a community project that adds VR to the single-player campaign. The mod is not an EA or Respawn product; its project documentation says it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the game’s developers or publishers. Read the project’s installer instructions and current release information.
For the mod to work, three parts of the setup need to line up:
- Your Titanfall 2 installation must be on a PC source identified by the project: Steam, EA, or Xbox.
- Your headset must connect to the PC and expose a working PC VR runtime that the game can use.
- You must start the game with the mod installer’s “Launch in VR” action rather than launching Titanfall 2 normally.
The project README says to use SteamVR or the user’s VR runtime of choice, but does not publish a reliable model-by-model list of tested headsets or runtime combinations. A headset’s ability to work with SteamVR generally is not, by itself, confirmation that it has been tested with this mod.

Can you play Titanfall 2 VR on Quest, Vive, or Index?
The available project instructions do not confirm Quest, HTC Vive, Valve Index, or any other individual headset model. The practical question is whether your headset can connect to your PC and provide a runtime that works with the mod—not just whether it supports VR on its own. For a Quest, for example, the documented route is PC VR, not a standalone Quest installation.
Before relying on a specific headset, check the mod’s current release notes and support discussions for confirmation from the maintainer. User reports can be useful clues, but they are anecdotes rather than an official compatibility matrix. The project README does not establish that every SteamVR-compatible headset is verified.

How to install and launch the VR campaign
- Install Titanfall 2 on PC. The project README identifies Steam, EA, and Xbox installations as supported sources.
- Install and sign in to the EA app. The README says the EA app is required even when using another installation source. If it is not installed, launch Titanfall 2 once to install it.
- Get the installer from the project. Follow the installer’s install or update flow for Titanfall 2 VR, using the current instructions in the project README.
- Start your PC headset software and VR runtime. Make sure the intended runtime is active before launching the game.
- Choose “Launch in VR” in the installer. Starting Titanfall 2 normally does not launch it with the VR mod.
These are the project’s documented setup steps; they are not a guarantee that every headset and runtime combination will establish a working session.
What the mod adds—and what it does not
The project describes its VR support as focused on the single-player campaign. Listed features include stereo rendering, full-body inverse kinematics, manual reloads, and Titan controls. It should not be presented as native support built into the original game or as a promise of VR support for every game mode.

VR campaign saves and settings are kept separately from the normal campaign under %LOCALAPPDATA%RespawnTitanfall2_VR, according to the project README.
If the headset does not start a VR session
- Confirm that the headset is connected to the PC and that its PC VR software is running.
- Check which runtime is active; the project instructions refer to SteamVR or another VR runtime.
- Confirm that you launched with the installer’s “Launch in VR” action, not the normal game launcher.
- Check the project’s current release notes or support channel for guidance on your specific headset and runtime.
Older forum discussions about using vorpX describe a separate VR-driver route and varying setup details; they do not verify headset support for this dedicated campaign mod. A 2017 Steam community discussion described the original game as lacking native VR, but it predates the later mod and should not be treated as current setup guidance.
