No—not as native Google Mobile Services (GMS) support. Huawei identifies the Mate 90 as a HarmonyOS 7 phone, and its support guidance says Mate 30-series and later models do not come preinstalled with GMS or Google apps because of Google authorization. That guidance points to the Mate 90, but Huawei does not present it as a Mate 90-specific certification test. Huawei suggests using Google apps in a browser; that is not the same as having Google Play or native GMS.
Does the Mate 90 have Google Play or preinstalled Google apps?
Do not expect the Mate 90 to arrive with the Google Play Store, Google Maps, Gmail, or other Google apps installed as part of native GMS. Huawei’s official Mate 90 product page identifies the operating system as HarmonyOS 7, while its support article says Huawei Mate 30 series and later devices do not come preinstalled with GMS or Google apps because of Google authorization. Applying that general policy to the Mate 90 is a well-supported inference, not a published Mate 90-specific certification result.

Huawei says GMS core is required for Google apps to work correctly. It also says Google app availability depends on Google’s authorization policy, not on whether Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) is installed. HMS, an app-store workaround, a browser shortcut, or a third-party container should therefore not be treated as equivalent to native Google certification. Huawei’s support guidance on GMS and Google apps recommends trying Google apps’ web versions.

Google services in a browser
Huawei’s suggested option is to use web versions of Google apps. This can provide browser access to some services, but it does not establish that every feature will work like it does in a certified Android app. This guidance does not confirm the behavior of individual apps, sign-in flows, notifications, payments, or location features on the Mate 90.

HarmonyOS apps and workarounds
Check whether the particular services you rely on have native HarmonyOS apps or usable web versions before buying. The available information does not test third-party workarounds or guarantee that any specific Google app will function on the Mate 90 through them. If an app or feature is essential, seek confirmation for the exact device and software version rather than assuming that installing HMS or a container will make it compatible.
Is the Mate 90 officially available outside China?
The documented product, sale, and software information is China-focused. Huawei’s HarmonyOS 7 FAQ describes the current upgrade program as limited to mainland China, and ITmedia reported on October 1, 2026 that Huawei had not announced a release outside China at that time. That is a statement about what had been announced then—not proof that an international release will never happen.

For a purchase outside mainland China, verify the phone’s regional software build, local warranty and returns, network-band compatibility, and the seller’s reliability. A China-market listing does not establish local stock, warranty coverage, or network compatibility in another country.

- Native Google apps are essential: choose a phone with confirmed GMS and Google Play support for the region where you will use it.
- You can use web versions or alternatives: check that the specific services you depend on are usable through HarmonyOS apps or a browser.
- You are buying an imported unit: confirm its regional software build, network bands, seller terms, warranty, and return options before paying.
- You are buying accessories: Huawei names a Mate 90 protective case, and its specifications list a transparent case and charging accessories in the package. Check the exact model fit and local package contents; do not assume a separate case or charger is required.
Huawei’s Mate 90 product page lists its HarmonyOS 7 software and package contents. The official launch page names Mate 90 accessories, including a protective case. For regional rollout context, see Huawei’s HarmonyOS 7 FAQ and ITmedia Mobile’s October 1, 2026 launch report.
