Short answer: the GameSir G7 Pro 8K PC editions are documented for Windows PC, using USB-C, the included 2.4 GHz receiver, or Bluetooth. Their manual does not list Xbox support. Bluetooth pairing works, but GameSir says Bluetooth XInput is unavailable; use the bundled receiver when you need normal wireless XInput on PC. Xbox support belongs to a separate tri-mode G7 Pro model, not automatically to the 8K PC editions.
First identify the exact G7 Pro model
GameSir uses very similar names for two different controller families. The “G7 Pro 8K” editions covered by the PC manual include the Aimlabs, Champion, Nioh 3 and Royal2 versions. GameSir identifies these as PC controllers. The separate tri-mode G7 Pro is marketed for Xbox, PC and mobile. Treating the names as interchangeable is the main reason compatibility answers become misleading.

Xbox compatibility is not established for the G7 Pro 8K PC editions. Their official manual identifies PC as the working platform and documents Windows connection procedures. It does not list Xbox as a supported host. That omission matters because an Xbox console can require platform-specific authentication and firmware support; a controller working over USB on Windows is not automatically accepted by an Xbox.

GameSir’s Xbox instructions apply to the separate tri-mode G7 Pro family. Those instructions describe a wired connection to Xbox, a receiver or wired connection to PC, and Bluetooth for Android. They should not be transferred to an 8K PC box simply because both products contain “G7 Pro” in the name.
What to check before buying
- Read the complete edition name on the packaging and listing. “8K PC,” “Aimlabs,” “Champion,” “Nioh 3” and “Royal2” indicate the PC-oriented editions covered by the 8K manual.
- Look for an explicit Xbox compatibility statement for the exact model, not a generic G7 Pro image or description.
- Confirm which receiver is in the box. The 8K PC wireless procedure relies on its bundled receiver.
If Xbox play is your requirement, choose only a model whose own documentation names Xbox. Do not assume that firmware updates, a USB cable or a third-party adapter will add support that the 8K manual does not claim.
Bluetooth on a Windows PC: pairing works, but Bluetooth XInput does not
The G7 Pro 8K PC manual includes Bluetooth pairing for PC. However, GameSir’s FAQ states: “Microsoft imposes certain restrictions, so XInput functionality is unavailable via Bluetooth connection.” In practical terms, the controller can appear in Windows Bluetooth settings and send input, but it will not provide the same Bluetooth XInput mode as the receiver.

That distinction affects games that expect an Xbox-style XInput device. Steam’s controller configuration and mapping features can translate a Bluetooth device for supported games, but this is a software workaround rather than Bluetooth XInput support from the controller. If a game only recognizes XInput and you want a straightforward wireless setup, use the supplied 2.4 GHz receiver.
How to connect the G7 Pro 8K wirelessly with its 2.4 GHz receiver
GameSir recommends the official receiver included with the controller for PC gaming. The 8K model’s advertised 8,000 Hz polling rate is specified for wired and 2.4 GHz connections, so this is also the wireless mode associated with that specification.
- Set the controller to its 2.4 GHz receiver mode using the mode control specified for your edition.
- Power on the controller.
- Plug the included USB receiver into the computer. Use the receiver supplied with this controller rather than assuming a dongle from another GameSir model will work.
- Wait for the Home indicator to become solid. A solid indicator shows that the controller and receiver have linked.
- Launch the game or Windows controller test and confirm that buttons and sticks respond as expected.
If the receiver does not pair
GameSir’s recovery procedure is to press the pairing button on the receiver and hold the controller’s pairing button to enter pairing mode again. Keep the receiver connected while doing this and wait for the Home indicator to settle. If the controller still does not connect, test another USB port, remove competing wireless receivers temporarily, and repeat the pairing sequence with the controller close to the receiver.

GameSir lists separately sold dongles for several other controllers but explicitly excludes G7 Pro from those compatible-dongle lists. A replacement receiver therefore needs confirmation for the exact G7 Pro 8K edition; do not buy a generic “G7-series” dongle on the assumption that it is interchangeable.
How to use a wired PC connection
For the simplest Windows setup, connect the controller to the computer with a USB-C data cable. The 8K PC manual lists Windows 10 and Windows 11 and supports wired operation alongside receiver and Bluetooth modes.
- Connect the controller’s USB-C port to the PC with a data-capable USB-C cable.
- Switch the controller to wired mode if your edition provides a mode selector.
- Allow Windows to install or recognize the controller, then test it in the game or Windows controller settings.
- Use GameSir’s Connect app when you need the software support listed for the 8K PC model, such as configuration or firmware-related functions.
A charge-only cable can power the controller without carrying data. If Windows does not detect it, replace the cable before changing game settings.

How to pair Bluetooth on Windows
The exact button combination differs by edition and host mode, so follow the combination printed in the manual for your controller. GameSir’s documented sequence has the same general shape:
- Switch the controller to Bluetooth mode and power it on.
- Hold Home together with the additional button combination specified for the exact edition until the Home light flashes rapidly.
- On Windows, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices, turn Bluetooth on, and select the controller when it appears.
- In GameSir’s Windows instructions, the device is shown as Wireless Controller. Select that entry and wait for Windows to report that it is connected.
- Open the game’s controller settings. If the game does not recognize the Bluetooth device, use Steam Input or switch to the 2.4 GHz receiver for wireless XInput.
Pairing the device proves only that the Bluetooth link is active. It does not change the protocol limitation: GameSir says Bluetooth XInput is unavailable on the latest GameSir controllers because of Microsoft restrictions.

What “8K” means here
GameSir advertises an 8,000 Hz polling rate for the G7 Pro 8K PC model and says that specification applies over wired and 2.4 GHz connections. This is a manufacturer specification. No independent measurement of polling rate, latency, wireless range or battery performance is established here, so those figures should not be treated as independently tested results.
Bluetooth is not included in that stated 8,000 Hz operating claim in the manual’s connection description. If your priority is the controller’s highest-rate PC mode and conventional XInput behavior, select wired or the included receiver rather than Bluetooth.
Troubleshooting by symptom
The controller never appears on Xbox
Verify the model name first. If it is an 8K PC edition, Xbox support is not listed in its manual. A cable or receiver cannot be assumed to add console compatibility. If it is the tri-mode G7 Pro, follow that model’s wired Xbox procedure and use the cable and firmware guidance supplied for it.

Bluetooth pairs, but a game says no controller is connected
Confirm that Windows shows the device as “Wireless Controller,” then check the game’s input mode. Bluetooth XInput is unavailable according to GameSir, so enable Steam Input where appropriate or move to the 2.4 GHz receiver.
The receiver is connected but the Home light keeps flashing
Re-enter pairing: press the receiver pairing button and hold the controller pairing button. Try a different USB port and keep the controller close during pairing. Do not substitute a separately sold dongle unless GameSir confirms compatibility with your exact G7 Pro 8K edition.
Wired mode powers on but provides no input
Use a USB-C data cable, select wired mode, and reconnect directly to the PC rather than through an unpowered hub. If Windows still does not detect it, check the device in Windows controller settings before troubleshooting the game.
