That is encouraging for a wire-free mower, but it does not prove performance on every satellite-challenged property. Small-object avoidance was notably less dependable, and the centered cutting disc leaves a gap at raised lawn edges. The Pro is most compelling when navigation resilience matters more than obstacle detection, edge precision, or maximum area per charge.
What does the M9 Pro’s quad-fusion navigation include?
The M9 Pro is rated for lawns up to 1,000 m². ANTHBOT describes its navigation system as 360° LiDAR, RTK/NetRTK, and dual AI vision, and says owners can skip installing a physical RTK station by using LiDAR with NetRTK. The product page also advertises wire-free setup and automatic mapping, including a three-minute setup claim; that timing is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independently timed result. These systems serve different roles: RTK provides satellite-based positioning, while LiDAR and vision add ways to perceive the mower’s surroundings. The appeal is redundancy when one source is less useful. The available independent test supports that promise in one specific respect, but it does not establish that every component can substitute perfectly for another in all gardens.
Does the ANTHBOT M9 Pro work under trees or with weak RTK reception?
In Notebookcheck’s 2026 review, the mower continued following its mapped paths reliably and accurately after reviewers disconnected power to the RTK antenna while it was mowing. The reviewers said its navigation was especially precise in extreme situations. However, they also described their test area as not particularly challenging for satellite reception. The result is evidence that it maintained its route in that test, not a guarantee for dense tree cover, deep shade, or every property with poor satellite visibility. Notebookcheck’s M9 Pro review

Narrow passages around 70 cm were generally manageable in the same review. ANTHBOT’s launch material claims the mower can pass through a 65 cm path, but that is a manufacturer specification rather than the measured result described above. ANTHBOT’s July 2026 launch release
Does the M9 Pro need a boundary wire or RTK station?
It is designed for wire-free operation: the manufacturer promotes automatic mapping and says users can avoid installing a physical RTK station when using LiDAR and NetRTK. That means no perimeter boundary wire is presented as necessary for setup, but published information does not establish what network coverage or subscription conditions may apply to NetRTK in a particular location. Confirm the connectivity requirements and local service availability before purchase, especially if you expect to rely on NetRTK rather than a physical base station.

How well does the M9 Pro avoid obstacles?
Small-obstacle avoidance was the clearest weakness in Notebookcheck’s testing. It consistently detected a garden hose, sometimes detected a ball of roughly 10 cm, and ran over both a mock hedgehog and a tennis ball. Repeating the tests with the latest firmware available to the reviewers did not materially change those results.
ANTHBOT says its AI recognizes more than 1,000 obstacle types, but that is a broad manufacturer claim, not a result validated by the independent tests above. The launch release does not erase the practical caution: clear small toys, balls, hoses, and wildlife from the mowing area rather than trusting the mower to identify them.

How close to the edge does the M9 Pro cut?
The mower uses a centrally positioned, 20 cm five-blade disc. Notebookcheck estimates about 9 cm between the disc and the mower’s outer edge, so a raised or otherwise non-flush boundary can leave an unmowed strip. The app’s mapped boundary overhang setting can help at flush transitions, where the mower can extend its path beyond the lawn edge. Reviewers found no improvement over the standard M9 in edge mowing.
How much lawn does it cover per charge?
Notebookcheck measured almost 250 m² over a little more than two hours per charge on its test area, about 50 m² less than the standard M9 covered there. Recharging took just under two hours. These are results from one review area, not guarantees for other lawns; layout, grass, and operating conditions can change coverage.

M9 Pro vs. standard M9: what does the extra cost buy?
Notebookcheck’s September 2026 comparison lists European suggested retail prices and shared specifications for both models. The central upgrade is LiDAR added to the standard M9’s RTK/NetRTK and dual-vision navigation; the review’s RTK-disconnection observation is the Pro’s clearest practical advantage. It does not bring better small-object avoidance or edge cutting in that review, and its measured coverage per charge was lower.
| Specification or result | ANTHBOT M9 Pro | ANTHBOT M9 |
|---|---|---|
| European suggested retail price listed by Notebookcheck (2026) | €1,299 | €849 |
| Rated lawn area | 1,000 m² | 1,000 m² |
| Navigation | 360° LiDAR, RTK/NetRTK, dual AI vision | RTK/NetRTK and dual AI vision; no LiDAR listed in the comparison |
| Cutting width | 20 cm | 20 cm |
| Cutting-height range | 3–7 cm | 3–7 cm |
| Rated slope | 45% / 24° | 45% / 24° |
| Battery | 5 Ah / 90 Wh | 5 Ah / 90 Wh |
| Coverage per charge in Notebookcheck’s test area | Almost 250 m² | About 50 m² more than the Pro |
The shared ratings do not mean the two mowers will perform identically on every lawn. The comparison’s price figures are European MSRP, not a promise of current marketplace pricing. Notebookcheck reported Amazon.de availability, and ANTHBOT’s EU page displayed €1,299 when accessed in October 2026; check your local listing, current price, stock, and bundle contents.

What else should you know before buying?
- Cutting and size: Notebookcheck lists electric cutting-height adjustment from 3 to 7 cm, a 5 Ah / 90 Wh battery, and dimensions of 49.8 × 39.2 × 27.8 cm at 10 kg.
- Slope and protection: The mower is rated for slopes up to 45% (24°). ANTHBOT claims noise of no more than 58 dB; the review lists IPX6 water protection. Treat the noise figure as a company claim, not an independent measurement. ANTHBOT’s launch release
- Garage and accessories: Notebookcheck says a garage is not part of the standard specification, though bundles may be offered. The launch release described a limited preorder garage offer. Verify current bundle contents and accessory fit rather than assuming the offer or compatibility continues.
