Streamlabs Mobile can stream to YouTube over Wi-Fi, but its published guidance does not establish it as a reliable unattended 24/7 setup. Streamlabs says the stream ends if the phone locks. Wi-Fi-only avoids using cellular data; it does not keep the phone awake, powered, connected, or running the app indefinitely.
What Wi-Fi-only support means
Streamlabs recommends streaming mobile games over Wi-Fi to reduce the risk of unexpected mobile-data charges. That recommendation concerns the network connection, not continuous unattended operation. A Wi-Fi connection can carry the broadcast without cellular data, but it cannot prevent interruptions caused by the phone locking, losing power, or losing its internet connection.

Streamlabs’ documented warning is direct: “If your device locks, the stream will end.” The available guidance does not state an app-enforced maximum broadcast duration, so there is no basis to claim that Streamlabs Mobile has a particular time cap. Nor does Wi-Fi-only make the stream resilient to a router or internet-provider outage. Streamlabs: How to Stream Mobile Games

How to start a YouTube stream from Streamlabs Mobile
- Enable YouTube live streaming first. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time enablement may take up to 24 hours. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance for current requirements.
- Connect your YouTube account in Streamlabs Mobile. Set up the stream in the app, choose YouTube, and either create a YouTube event from the app or select an existing active event. Streamlabs’ phone guide also says the account must be phone-verified and enabled for livestreaming; confirm current eligibility with YouTube. Streamlabs: How to Live Stream on YouTube from Phone
- Use Wi-Fi and keep the phone awake. Start the broadcast with Go Live and choose YouTube. Keep the device unlocked while live; locking it ends the stream according to Streamlabs’ guidance. The app workflow is suited to starting a mobile broadcast, not proof of hands-off 24/7 playout. Streamlabs: How to Live Stream from Streamlabs Mobile
For unattended continuity, consider an encoder workflow
YouTube distinguishes mobile streaming, which it describes as useful for vlogging and quick updates, from encoder streaming for more advanced productions. If the goal is an ongoing feed that should not depend on a phone remaining awake, investigate an encoder-based workflow and its monitoring and recovery requirements rather than assuming a mobile app provides unattended continuity. YouTube’s guidance lists continuous-stream capability in its encoder ecosystem; that does not itself guarantee uninterrupted service. YouTube: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder

Network Boost is not a Wi-Fi-only mode
Streamlabs describes Network Boost as combining multiple internet connections, such as Wi-Fi and cellular data, to strengthen an IRL stream connection. Its setup guidance requires Streamlabs Mobile, an active Streamlabs Ultra or Ultra+ subscription, and access to more than one connection. That makes it a different approach from a strict Wi-Fi-only setup, and it does not resolve the documented phone-lock limitation. Understand YouTube’s 12-hour archive caveat
YouTube says it can automatically archive a live stream that lasts less than 12 hours. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all; this applies to encoder, webcam, and mobile streams. This is an archive limitation, not evidence that YouTube automatically stops a live broadcast at 12 hours. If you need a recording, plan a separate local recording or another archive path; YouTube recommends keeping a local archive as backup. YouTube Help: Archive live streams
