Yes. Eligible Straight Talk phones can use Wi-Fi Calling to make and receive calls and texts over a Wi-Fi network. The phone must be active, support the feature, and have an enabled Wi-Fi Calling SIM. You can use a permissible Wi-Fi network you already have; Straight Talk Home Internet is a separate service, not a requirement for Wi-Fi Calling.
What “Straight Talk on Wi-Fi” can mean
There are two different services people may mean. Wi-Fi Calling is a feature on an eligible Straight Talk phone and line: it routes calls and texts over an available Wi-Fi connection. Straight Talk Home Internet is a separate fixed-wireless broadband service that uses a router to provide internet and Wi-Fi at home.

- Need calls or texts where cellular coverage is weak? Check whether your phone and SIM support Wi-Fi Calling, then connect to a Wi-Fi network you are allowed to use.
- Need an internet connection and Wi-Fi at home? Check whether Straight Talk Home Internet is available at your service address. Its router and plan are separate from mobile Wi-Fi Calling.
Straight Talk describes Wi-Fi Calling as the ability to make and receive phone calls and text messages over a Wi-Fi connection in its terms and conditions, section 9.

- An active Straight Talk phone and line.
- A phone model that supports Wi-Fi Calling. Not every phone model does; Straight Talk notes this on its accessibility information page, last updated February 23, 2023. Confirm support for your exact phone and line rather than relying only on the model name.
- An enabled Wi-Fi Calling SIM.
- Access to a usable Wi-Fi network. Straight Talk says customers are responsible for having permission to use a network and cautions that unsecured networks can affect data security.
You do not need a Straight Talk Home Internet router specifically. Wi-Fi Calling can use another Wi-Fi network the phone can access, subject to the phone, line, network, and service conditions.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
What to expect from calls and texts over Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi Calling can help when indoor cellular coverage is poor, but it is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service. Call quality and availability depend on the Wi-Fi connection and other service conditions. Straight Talk warns that service may be interrupted, delayed, limited, or unavailable.
If the feature does not work, check the phone’s Wi-Fi Calling support and settings, confirm that the line is active and the SIM is enabled for the feature, and try a reliable Wi-Fi network you are authorized to use. A Wi-Fi connection by itself does not establish that the phone or line is eligible.

- Dual-band Wi-Fi with 5 GHz speeds up to 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz speeds up to 300 Mbps, delivering 1200 Mbps of total bandwidth¹. Dual-band routers do not support 6 GHz. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- Covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. with four external antennas for stable wireless connections and optimal coverage.
- Supports IGMP Proxy/Snooping, Bridge and Tag VLAN to optimize IPTV streaming
- Access Point Mode - Supports AP Mode to transform your wired connection into wireless network, an ideal wireless router for home
- Advanced Security with WPA3 - The latest Wi-Fi security protocol, WPA3, brings new capabilities to improve cybersecurity in personal networks
Wi-Fi Calling and 911: important limits
Straight Talk recommends wireless service as the primary way to contact 911. Wi-Fi 911 has additional setup and reliability limits, so do not assume it works like traditional emergency calling.
- During Wi-Fi Calling activation, provide a primary address where you use Wi-Fi. Update the registered address when it changes; Straight Talk says an update may take 24 hours or more.
- If you call 911 while away from the registered address, the carrier may not know your location. Be prepared to tell the dispatcher where you are.
- Wi-Fi 911 requires internet access and may be limited or unavailable because of power, internet, or wireless-service loss or disruption, congestion, equipment relocation, delayed address information, or other technical problems.

Straight Talk Home Internet is a separate home service
If you mean “Can Straight Talk provide my home Wi-Fi?”, its Home Internet offer is a distinct 5G/LTE fixed-wireless service. The router receives broadband service and broadcasts Wi-Fi; it is not part of every mobile plan and is not needed to enable phone Wi-Fi Calling.
Straight Talk describes its Home Internet Router as an all-in-one 5G/LTE broadband and Wi-Fi device. Its product page lists Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax) on 2.4 and 5 GHz, WPA3 security, and support for up to 128 connected devices—or up to 100 when Band Steering is on. These are router specifications for the home service, not requirements for Wi-Fi Calling.

Straight Talk’s Home Internet disclosure, accessed October 8, 2026, lists a $45 monthly price, unlimited data, typical download speeds of 20–148 Mbps, typical upload speeds of 2–15 Mbps, and typical latency of 43–85 ms. These are the carrier’s published figures, not a speed guarantee or independent test. The carrier says availability is limited to select areas and actual availability, coverage, and speeds can vary with address or location, signal strength, and network connection. Check your exact service address before relying on availability or performance.
