StarWars.com announced a worldwide release for October 6, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. That date is three days after Metacritic’s October 3 listing status, so the game had not launched at the time of the comparison. What the game is—and what that does not establish
The official announcement describes a race on Jakku and identifies Fuse Games co-founder Matt Webster and Lucasfilm Games vice president and general manager Douglas Reilly in its interview. Steam’s pre-release listing describes a runs-based racing game with a solo story campaign and PvP modes, featuring landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders, and podracers. The listing names Fuse Games as developer and Secret Mode as publisher. Those product details do not provide a critic score or evidence of how the finished game performs.

Lucasfilm Games executive producer Craig Derrick said the aim was to deliver an experience that is “cinematic, skill-driven, and unmistakably Star Wars,” calling the gameplay reveal “a major step toward that vision.” That is a statement of developer intent, not an independent review of the released game. Steam’s promotional line says: “No Force. No prophecy. Just skill, strategy, and the will to rise.”
For prospective PC players, Steam’s pre-release requirements list Windows 10, 12 GB of RAM, 50 GB of storage, and an SSD. Those are storefront specifications, not independently tested performance results. Check the Steam listing for the current requirements and release information.

What to check when reviews are available
A later comparison should use the game’s current critic Metascore, not confuse it with a User Score, and name the particular films it exceeds. To claim it is higher than “several” films, the score must be above several of the listed film scores; simply receiving a score is not enough. Metacritic’s threshold is four critic reviews, and scores and rankings may change, so check the game page and film listings at the time of comparison.
