Steam Deck Verified is a compatibility designation. It covers criteria such as readable text, controller operation, launcher behavior and compatibility with the Deck’s default configuration. It is not a distribution channel for custom boot animations, nor does it announce promotional artwork or community-made startup videos.

A startup video is a separate asset shown when a Steam Deck powers on or returns to its startup sequence. Such videos can be produced by a publisher, developer, Valve, or an independent community creator. None of the consulted information establishes which, if any, of those parties made a video for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.

Those details are useful context, but they are not confirmation of a startup video. A pre-release Deck preview and a post-release boot animation are different claims. The preview does not establish that a video was included with the game, added to SteamOS, or made available for download.
Where to look if an official video is announced
- Check the game’s Steam news and community announcements. An official release would normally identify the publisher or developer, the video’s availability and any installation instructions.
- Check official channels for Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment. Look for a dated announcement or a direct link to the asset rather than reposted clips with no attribution.
- Inspect the Steam Deck’s customization interface only after a source confirms the asset. A video appearing in a third-party library or community collection is not evidence that it is an official game feature.
- Verify the file’s provenance. Confirm who created it, when it was released and whether it is intended for Steam Deck startup playback before installing anything.
What is not established
- No consulted source confirms that a Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy startup video exists.
- No source identifies an official download, workshop entry, store item or installation route.
- No source attributes such a video to Asobo Studio, Focus Entertainment, Valve or a named community creator.
- No post-release performance measurements are available here beyond Steam’s Verified designation and the pre-release preview context.
What Steam Deck owners can conclude now
Owners can treat the game as officially marked Steam Deck Verified and expect the store’s compatibility checks to apply. They should not assume that the game includes a themed startup video, and they should not download an unverified file merely because a headline or social-media post claims one exists.

The game’s release date is August 27, 2026. Until that appears, “gets Steam Deck startup video” remains an unconfirmed claim rather than an established feature.
