Sony introduced Quick Spectral Super Resolution as a library developers can integrate into individual games. The first announced games with QSSR are Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei; broader availability to developers means more titles may add it, not that every existing game already supports it.
Which PS5 games support QSSR?
In its October 1, 2026 announcement, Sony named Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei as the first games receiving QSSR patches. Sony said it would offer the library broadly to PlayStation developers, but did not announce universal support or a complete list of games.

Because support is integrated title by title, check the game’s current official patch notes and graphics options for confirmation. A game may receive support after launch, so an older list may not reflect its latest version.

QSSR stands for Quick Spectral Super Resolution. Sony describes it as a new performance tier of AI upscaling for PS5, developed from Project Amethyst, its AI graphics collaboration with AMD. Sony says its implementation uses a streamlined neural-network architecture and hand-tuned integration. In practice, developers incorporate the library into their games; it is not a console-wide switch that automatically applies to all titles.

Does QSSR improve performance or image quality?
Sony says QSSR is intended to improve image detail and stability. The announcement does not provide frame-rate, latency, resolution, or measured image-quality figures, so it does not establish a numerical performance gain—or that every QSSR-enabled game will run faster.
Studio representatives described visual benefits in the initial games. Insomniac Games’ Head of Technology Mike Fitzgerald said QSSR adds pixel-level clarity and stability to environments in Marvel’s Wolverine. Sucker Punch Productions’ Lead Rendering Engineer Jasmin Patry said it resolves fine detail in characters and environments and improves temporal stability. These are developers’ descriptions, not results from a published controlled comparison.

Is QSSR the same as PSSR on PS5 Pro?
No. Sony’s announcements place QSSR in PS5 games and upgraded PSSR in the PS5 Pro context. The names and AI-upscaling purpose are related, but the cited information describes distinct platform implementations. The PS5 Pro system setting “Enhance PSSR Image Quality” applies to existing PS5 Pro games that support PSSR; Sony cautions that results vary by title. It is not a setting that enables QSSR in every PS5 game.

How can you check whether a game has QSSR?
- Check the game’s official announcements. Look for a PlayStation or developer post that names QSSR support for that specific title.
- Read the current patch notes. Confirm that the notes apply to your game and version; a general statement that QSSR is available to developers is not confirmation that a particular game has added it.
- Inspect the game’s graphics options. Sony describes QSSR as an additional graphics option in the first announced games, but has not said all future titles will use the same toggle or menu wording.
