The wireless charger is sold separately, and Motorola’s 68W TurboPower wired charging is substantially faster when you need a quick recharge.
Motorola Edge (2025) wireless-charging specifications
Motorola’s U.S. specifications identify the phone as supporting wireless charging up to 15W. The model covered here is the U.S. motorola edge – 2025; international Edge 60, Edge 50 and other Edge-series phones can have different specifications.
| Feature | U.S. Motorola Edge (2025) |
|---|---|
| Wireless charging | Yes |
| Wireless standard | Qi-certified charger compatibility |
| Maximum wireless rate | Up to 15W |
| Wired charging | Up to 68W TurboPower; USB Power Delivery 3.0 is listed |
| Wireless charger in the box | Motorola says the Qi charger is sold separately; verify the exact retailer package |

What charger does it use?
The phone uses the open Qi wireless-charging standard. You do not need a proprietary Motorola pad: choose a Qi-certified pad or stand, preferably one rated for at least 15W if you want to accommodate the phone’s stated maximum.

A charger rated above 15W can still be compatible, but the Edge (2025) should not be expected to charge above its official 15W ceiling. Actual power varies with the pad’s power adapter, alignment, temperature, case and the charging protocols shared by the phone and pad.
Is a wireless charger included?
Motorola’s support documentation says the Qi-certified wireless charger is sold separately. That describes Motorola’s accessory guidance, not every possible retailer bundle, so check the contents of the specific U.S. package before assuming a pad or stand is included. Wireless-charging support does not by itself mean that a charger comes in the phone box.
How to charge the Edge (2025) wirelessly
- Connect a Qi-certified charging pad or stand to a suitable wall adapter and cable.
- Place the charger on a stable, flat surface.
- Set the phone face-up on the charger.
- Center the wireless-charging area on the back of the phone over the charger’s coil. The location is identified in the U.S. user guide.
- Wait for the on-screen or battery-status indication that charging has started.
Placement matters. If the coil areas do not overlap, the phone may charge intermittently or not charge at all.

How fast is 15W wireless charging?
“Up to 15W” is a maximum specification, not a constant charging rate or a guaranteed full-charge time. Heat, battery level, alignment, the pad’s adapter and the case can all reduce power. Motorola also notes that wireless charging is generally slower than USB charging.

Motorola lists up to 68W TurboPower and USB Power Delivery 3.0 for this U.S. model. The 68W figure describes the phone’s advertised capability; an arbitrary third-party charger, cable, temperature or battery condition may deliver less.

- Re-center the phone over the pad’s coil.
- Confirm that the pad is connected to power and try another cable or wall adapter.
- Remove a thick case, particularly one with a metal plate, magnets, wallet section or kickstand. A thin, non-metal case will often work, but Motorola warns that some cases interfere.
- Let the phone and pad cool if either is unusually hot. Wireless charging can produce more heat than USB charging, and heat management may lower power.
- Test with another Qi-certified charger to rule out a faulty or incompatible pad.
- Switch to USB-C charging if you need the phone to recharge quickly.
A pad marked “15W” does not guarantee 15W to this phone. The label may refer to another device or protocol, while alignment, adapter capacity and thermal limits can keep the Edge below that rate.
Cases, magnets and MagSafe accessories
The safest expectation is Qi compatibility, not native MagSafe certification. A thin non-metal case may charge normally, but thick, metal-backed, magnetic or kickstand cases can block or misalign the charging field. Remove the case or magnetic accessory when charging is inconsistent. Do not assume that a magnetic charger will attach securely or deliver a special fast-charging mode.

Does it support reverse wireless charging?
The cited model-specific Motorola material confirms wireless charging of the Edge (2025). It does not clearly establish that reverse wireless charging—using the phone to charge another Qi device—is enabled on every U.S. hardware or software configuration. Do not assume that feature unless the phone’s current settings or dedicated model documentation explicitly provides it.

Why conflicting listings say it does not charge wirelessly
Conflicting answers often mix the U.S. Edge (2025) with another generation or with an international Edge 60 or Edge 50 variant. Retailer listings can also copy incomplete specifications, and generic help pages may describe devices that lack wireless charging. For this question, the model-specific U.S. specification page and U.S. guide are the relevant references: they identify 15W wireless charging for the U.S. phone.
Should you use wireless or wired charging?
- Choose wireless for a bedside or desk setup, frequent top-ups and the convenience of placing the phone on a stand or pad.
- Choose wired when speed matters, the battery is nearly empty, or you want fewer alignment and case-related variables.
- Skip buying a wireless pad if your only goal is the fastest recharge; the phone’s 68W wired option is the more suitable choice.
The U.S. Motorola Edge (2025) is therefore a Qi-compatible phone with a 15W wireless ceiling—not a phone limited to wired charging, and not one that should be confused with similarly named international models.
