No—not in the 18V LXT lineup published by Makita U.S. Makita lists LXT battery capacities from 1.5Ah to 6.0Ah. Its BL1860B is a genuine 18V LXT 6.0Ah battery, not a 12Ah one. This answer is specific to Makita’s published U.S. LXT lineup; it does not establish what may exist under a different name in every market or verify individual third-party listings.
What capacities does Makita list for 18V LXT?

Why check the platform, not just the Ah number?
Amp-hours describe a battery’s labeled capacity; they do not identify which tools it fits. Makita says batteries are compatible within their respective platforms. LXT batteries work with LXT products, including 36V (18V X2) tools designed to use two 18V LXT batteries. What to check before buying a battery or charger
- Match the platform: Check that the battery and tool are both LXT, and confirm the exact tool’s manual or current product documentation.
- Confirm the battery model: If you want the listed 6.0Ah LXT option, check that the product is identified as BL1860B. A listing’s “12Ah” label is not confirmed by Makita’s published U.S. LXT capacity list.
- Check charger compatibility: Makita catalog material lists DC18RC, DC18RD, and DC18SF among chargers for LXT batteries including BL1860B. Verify the exact battery and charger models against current documentation rather than assuming every charger fits.
Makita’s U.S. LXT system page describes a system with 350+ products as of 2026; that is a count of products, not evidence of a 12Ah battery.
What if a listing claims to be a Makita 18V 12Ah battery?
The available Makita U.S. documentation does not confirm a 12Ah battery in its published 18V LXT lineup. That alone does not establish whether a particular third-party listing is genuine, what capacity it actually has, or whether it is safe. Check Makita’s current model documentation and the exact tool’s compatibility guidance; do not treat a marketplace label as proof of an official Makita specification.

Do not open or rebuild the pack to investigate. Makita’s battery guidance says not to disassemble a battery cartridge.
