Since Kroger does not provide a current store-by-store Samsung Pay directory in the guidance reviewed, check with your local store or look for contactless-payment signs at the checkout terminal.
What Kroger’s payment information confirms
Kroger’s current in-store payment page promotes Kroger Pay, its own app-based checkout option. It does not confirm Samsung Pay acceptance across Kroger stores. That absence is not proof that no individual store accepts Samsung Pay; it means shoppers should not assume it works at every location.

The specific Kroger announcement naming Samsung Pay is dated August 6, 2020. In it, Kroger said it was piloting NFC contactless payments in its QFC division in Seattle, Washington, and listed Samsung Pay alongside Apple Pay, Google Pay, Fitbit Pay, mobile banking apps, and contactless chip cards. How to check whether Samsung Pay will work at your store
- Ask the specific store. Contact your local Kroger-family store and ask whether its checkout terminals currently accept Samsung Wallet contactless payments.
- Check the payment terminal. Samsung identifies the Samsung Pay logo, an acceptance message, or the NFC contactless symbol as signs to look for. These signs can help, but the official sources do not verify any particular Kroger store. Samsung Wallet FAQ.
- Have another payment method ready. Store-level acceptance is not established by Kroger’s general payment page or the historical QFC pilot announcement.
How Samsung Wallet contactless payment works
At a store with an enabled contactless reader, open Samsung Wallet, choose your card, authenticate, and hold the back of your phone near the reader. Samsung’s Samsung Wallet instructions note that a thick phone case can interfere with the NFC signal. These steps explain how to use the phone; they do not determine whether a Kroger terminal accepts the payment.

Kroger Pay is a separate checkout option
Kroger Pay is not Samsung Pay. It runs through the Kroger app: the shopper authenticates, receives a transaction-specific QR code, and scans it at checkout. Kroger says the service is available at participating Kroger-family in-store locations, with exceptions that include Kroger Fuel Centers.
