Generally, yes. YouTube says live chat replay is on by default for stream archives and shows chat alongside the archived stream as it appeared live. That is YouTube’s behavior—not a separate replay guarantee from Gyre. Replay may be disabled for an individual video, and YouTube says chat replay is unavailable if the stream was edited in its video editor.
How chat replay works for a Gyre stream
Gyre describes sending prerecorded video to YouTube as a live broadcast using a stream key, with live chat available to viewers during the broadcast. Once YouTube archives the stream, YouTube’s normal archive settings determine whether chat replay appears. Gyre’s reviewed information does not make a separate promise about retaining chat replay after the stream ends.

YouTube Help says live chat replay is available on stream archives by default and displays the chat alongside the stream as it appeared live. See YouTube’s live chat moderation guidance and Gyre’s explanation of streaming prerecorded videos live on YouTube.

- Replay was turned off: A creator can disable live chat replay for an individual video in that video’s customization settings in YouTube Studio.
- The archive was edited: YouTube says streams edited in its video editor will not have chat replay.
- No archive is available: Chat replay appears with a stream archive, so first confirm that the broadcast produced an archived video.
- The audience was set as Made for Kids: YouTube says live chat is off by default for streams with this audience setting.
YouTube’s guidance on live chat covers the editor and Made for Kids behavior.
What to check in YouTube Studio
- Confirm that the stream ended and an archived video is available on your channel.
- Open the archived video’s customization settings in YouTube Studio and check whether Live chat replay is enabled.
- Check whether the archive was edited using YouTube’s video editor. YouTube says an edited stream will not have chat replay.
- If the stream was set as Made for Kids, account for YouTube’s default that live chat is off for that audience setting.
Does Gyre guarantee chat replay?
The available Gyre description supports treating its prerecorded-video broadcast as a YouTube live stream, so YouTube’s archive behavior is the relevant baseline. It does not establish a Gyre-specific guarantee that replay will remain available. For a missing replay, check the archive and its YouTube settings rather than assuming the cause is Gyre.
