That number has not been confirmed by Rockstar or Sony in the report’s account, so treat it as an unverified listing requirement—not a confirmed “secret update.”
What PS5 firmware does GTA 6 reportedly require?
Gameguru Mania reported on October 3, 2026, that the PS5 store listing for Grand Theft Auto VI calls for system software 14.10.00.00. The outlet attributed the version number to PlayStation Game Size, a third-party tracker of store data. It did not cite a Rockstar or Sony announcement confirming the requirement.

The figure is therefore a reported listing detail, not an official minimum that players can rely on as final. Store requirements can change before release; check Rockstar’s official GTA VI page and the PlayStation Store listing for current information.

Has Rockstar confirmed the requirement or explained it?
No confirmation or explanation from Rockstar or Sony is included in the report. In particular, the reported version number does not establish that Rockstar selected it to prevent jailbroken consoles from running the game.

- Model Number CFI-2000
- Includes DualSense Wireless Controller, 1TB SSD, 2 Horizontal Stand Feet, HDMI Cable, AC power cord, USB cable, printed materials, ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game)
- Vertical Stand sold seperately
Gameguru Mania also says public PS5 jailbreak support through the Relapse exploit stops at firmware 13.60. It says a console on that version would not run a build requiring 14.10 without updating. That is the report’s account of the jailbreak context; it does not establish Rockstar’s intent or prove that the game’s reported requirement will remain unchanged.
Does the report mean you need a new PS5?
No. A reported software-version requirement does not show that owners need to buy a new PS5, PS5 Pro, accessory, or repair service. If a confirmed game requirement eventually calls for newer system software, the relevant issue would be the console’s software version, not evidence here of a hardware upgrade need.
