No. ExpressVPN’s current subscription documentation, as checked for this 2026 update, does not describe a separate family-branded plan. Every subscription is a tier with a fixed number of simultaneous connections: 10 on Basic, 12 on Advanced, and 14 on Express Pro. A household can share one account across all its devices, but only as many devices as the tier allows can be connected at the same moment. When a household needs more than that, ExpressVPN’s support pages point to buying additional subscriptions, sharing a connection from a Windows computer, or setting up a VPN router.
The limits below are ExpressVPN’s own published figures. They describe what the company states it offers, not independent testing of how the service performs.

What ExpressVPN sells instead of a family plan
ExpressVPN’s support article “What subscriptions are available with ExpressVPN?” states: “ExpressVPN offers three subscription tiers: Basic, Advanced, and Express Pro.” The support material does not present any tier as aimed at families, so the question a household actually faces is how many devices can be connected at once.

Why simultaneous connections matter more than device count
The limit applies to devices connected at the same time, not to the number of devices your household owns. Consider a hypothetical home with six phones, two laptops, a tablet and a smart TV. Those eleven devices would fit within the 12-connection Advanced limit as long as no more than 12 were connected at any one moment. On Basic, the same home would need to keep at least one device disconnected whenever all ten allowed connections were already in use.
ExpressVPN’s support guidance for reaching the limit is to disconnect a device. That makes the practical question how many devices are active at peak times, such as evenings when phones, a laptop and a TV all stream at once.

ExpressVPN lists purchasing additional subscriptions as one way to exceed a single account’s limit. Each subscription carries its own tier limit, so this route scales by cost. Check the price of each subscription on the live pricing page, because offers change.

Share the connection from a Windows computer
The support page lists sharing the connection from a Windows computer as a second option. The material behind this article does not spell out the setup steps or any cap on how many devices can use a shared connection, so read the current support article for those details before relying on this route.

A VPN router is the route that covers the most devices. It is explained in the next section.

Using a VPN router for a whole household
ExpressVPN’s router product information says a router counts as one of the subscription’s simultaneous connections and that there is no limit to the number of devices connected behind it. Devices on the home network then reach the VPN through the router rather than through their own apps.

Before buying or setting one up, note these caveats:
- Aircove is no longer sold. Existing Aircove units continue to receive support and updates according to ExpressVPN’s published timelines.
- The third-party router app no longer receives security updates on the published timeline, so it should not be treated as a long-term option.
- Model compatibility must be checked individually. Confirm a specific router model against ExpressVPN’s current compatibility and firmware-support information before purchase. Do not assume a model works because it is a generic “VPN router.”
- Everything behind the router shares one setup. Connected devices use the same VPN location and configuration. If different people need different locations, or you want per-device behavior, check the router’s features first.
A router setup is a way to route a home network through one connection. It is not a separate family plan, and it does not change the tier limits.
Business option: ExpressVPN for Teams
ExpressVPN’s pricing page, seen in 2026 search results, lists a 5-license minimum for ExpressVPN for Teams. This is a business product, not a consumer family plan. Verify current terms on the pricing page before assuming it fits a household.

- Count the devices that will be connected at the same time at peak use, not the total number of devices in the home.
- Pick the lowest tier whose limit covers that peak count, then confirm which bundled features you need on that tier.
