In the US, Disney+ offers ad-supported plans and Premium. Disney says Premium on-demand movies and shows are generally free of commercial interruption, but select live and linear programming can carry ads on any plan. Premium can also include promotional or sponsored content. The distinction is what you watch, which plan you have, and where you subscribe.
How ads work on Disney+ plans
Disney+ treats on-demand entertainment differently from select live and linear programming. Its Help Center says that on-demand movies and shows on Premium plans will “generally” be free of commercial interruption. The word “generally” matters: Premium is not a promise that every kind of content will be entirely free of advertising or promotion.
Disney also states: “Ads will be served in select live and linear programming, regardless of your Disney+ plan.” In practical terms, the ad status of a plan does not guarantee that every live or linear program will be ad-free. Disney’s ad policy also notes that Premium may include limited promotional or sponsored material, including clips and trailers, branded content, product integrations, and sponsorship messaging.

US plan names and prices
Disney’s US plans-and-prices page lists standalone Disney+ Basic/Standard (with Ads) at $11.99 per month and Disney+ Premium (No Ads) at $18.99 per month. Disney states these prices are for new subscriptions as of September 23, 2026. The page also warns that prices through third-party billing partners may vary. Premium is listed with monthly and annual billing; check Disney’s page for the current annual price and available options.

Bundles need a service-by-service check
A bundle that includes Disney+ Premium does not necessarily make every included service ad-free. Disney lists bundles with different Disney+ tiers and, in some Premium bundles, another service such as ESPN may still be ad-supported. Check the bundle’s listed tier for each service rather than assuming that “Premium” applies to the whole package. Disney’s US plans and prices page shows the composition of its listed bundle options.

Plan labels differ by country
US plan names should not be treated as universal. Disney’s UK page, dated May 4, 2026, lists “Disney+ Standard with Ads” and “Disney+ Standard”; the latter includes ad-free movies and series. What to check if ads appear
- Identify the content type. Ads in select live or linear programming are possible even on Premium.
- Check the Disney+ tier itself. A bundle can include an ad-supported Disney+ plan or a Premium plan, and other included services may have different ad terms.
- Confirm the market and billing source. Plan availability, naming, pricing, and third-party billing terms vary. Disney says subscribers can manage their plan through their account; its US plans and prices page lists available choices.
