What cross-play and cross-progression does AION 2 support?
For the global PC service, cross-play means Steam and PURPLE players can play on shared servers. Cross-progression means you can continue with the same character when you switch launchers, provided you use the same account. The official FAQ confirms both directions: Steam characters can be accessed through PURPLE, and PURPLE characters through Steam. How to use the same character on Steam and PURPLE
- Install or open the other launcher: Steam or PURPLE.
- Sign in using the same account linked to your existing AION 2 character. The official FAQ’s guidance is specifically about accessing the same account through the alternate launcher.
- Launch the game and select the character you already play. The FAQs describe access to the existing character, not a character copy or a transfer to a different account.
Does this include mobile or cross-region progression?
Mobile support is not confirmed for the current global service
The global FAQ lists Steam and PURPLE as platforms and Windows PC as the supported operating system. It does not list mobile as a current global platform. NCSOFT’s May 30, 2025 announcement said AION 2 “will support cross-platform play across PC and mobile,” but that earlier development statement does not establish mobile availability in the global service now. Check the current global FAQ for the listed support scope.
Cross-region character access is unconfirmed
The global FAQ lists server locations in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. The reviewed official guidance does not say whether a character or its progression can move between those regions, so shared servers between Steam and PURPLE should not be read as cross-region progression. AION 2’s global service launched October 5, 2026, according to the official global site.
