Some TCL TVs have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, but you cannot assume yours does. The answer depends on the exact model. Check its connection diagram or port list in the manual, then inspect the TV’s side and rear panels. A wired-headphone option in the audio menu is useful to check, but by itself does not confirm that your set has a physical headphone socket.
How to tell whether your TCL TV has a headphone jack
- Find the full model number. Check the label on the TV, its Settings or About screen, or your purchase documents.
- Look up that model’s manual. Use TCL’s support page to find the model-specific documentation. Check the connection diagram or port list for a headphone output.
- Inspect the connections. Look along the sides and rear for a headphone symbol or a 3.5 mm socket. If a port’s label is unclear, confirm its function in the manual rather than relying on its appearance.
- Check the audio menu. Look under Settings > Audio, or the corresponding audio output menu for your model, for a wired-headphone choice. TCL says menus and available features can vary by model, region, input source, and software version; Roku TV options can also differ by Roku OS version.
TCL’s guidance for its 2024 Google TV model line includes “Wired Headphone” as an audio output option, but that does not establish that every TCL TV has a headphone socket. The manual and ports for your particular set are the deciding checks. See TCL’s 2024 Google TV audio guidance.

Optical and HDMI ARC/eARC are audio routes, not headphone jacks themselves. Their availability and usefulness depend on the TV and the connected audio device. TCL’s Google TV settings guidance lists Optical and HDMI ARC/eARC among possible audio outputs, while noting that labels and features can vary.

Pair Bluetooth headphones on a supported TCL Google TV
- Put the headphones into pairing mode.
- On the TV, open Settings > Remote & Accessories > Pair remote or accessory.
- Select the headphones when they appear and follow the on-screen prompts.
The exact menu route can vary by model and software. TCL’s support guidance says: “You can connect several Bluetooth devices, like headphones or game controllers, to your TCL Google TV. You can only connect one audio device at a time.” See TCL’s Bluetooth setup guidance.
Will the TV speakers play at the same time?
Do not assume simultaneous playback from every connection. TCL’s guidance for its 2024 Google TV model line lists a “Wired Headphone + Internal Speaker” option for sending audio to wired headphones and the TV speakers at the same time. That is specific to the documented model-line guidance; check your own TV’s audio menu and manual. The cited guidance does not establish simultaneous playback for Bluetooth or for other TCL models. If you cannot find a headphone output
- Recheck the full model number and the manual’s port diagram; similar-looking TCL models can have different connections.
- Review the available audio outputs in the TV settings. Menu names and features may differ by model and software.
- If Bluetooth is listed, try pairing compatible headphones through the TV’s pairing menu.
- If the TV has Optical or HDMI ARC/eARC, check whether your audio equipment supports that connection and can provide headphone listening.
- Before buying a converter, verify the TV’s output, the converter’s required input, its headphone output, and compatible audio formats.
