Yes. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2’s paddles work on Windows PC and can be used with Xbox Cloud Gaming when they’re assigned to controller buttons in an Xbox Accessories profile. Whether the input works in a particular cloud session also depends on the device, cloud client, and game.
How the paddles work
The Elite Series 2 has interchangeable rear paddles that can be assigned to controller buttons through the Xbox Accessories app. The paddles send the input assigned to them; they do not guarantee that every game or client will recognize every mapping.

- Connect the controller to Windows using Bluetooth, the included USB cable, or an Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, which is sold separately.
- Open the Xbox Accessories app and select the Elite Series 2 controller.
- Assign each paddle to the controller button you want it to activate, then save or select the profile containing those assignments.
- In the game, confirm that the assigned controller button performs the intended action.
The adapter is optional for ordinary controller-button mappings: Bluetooth or USB are also listed connection options. Microsoft documents the app’s mapping and profile features on its product page.

Using the paddles with Xbox Cloud Gaming
You can take a mapped profile into cloud play, but support is not guaranteed for every combination of device and game. Xbox says cloud play depends on a supported game and, depending on the device, a supported Bluetooth controller. Check the Xbox Cloud Gaming tested controllers page for the specific device or client you plan to use. Do not assume that a phone, smart TV, browser, or app handles every mapping identically.
Controller-button mapping is different from keyboard mapping
Assigning a paddle to a controller button is not the same as assigning it to a keyboard key. In an August 3, 2023 Xbox Wire explanation, Microsoft says PC users need to connect by USB or Xbox Wireless Adapter for controller-to-keyboard mapping. Keyboard support also varies by game: some games offer full support, some partial support, and some none. See Xbox Wire’s keyboard button mapping announcement.

If a paddle does not work
- In Xbox Accessories, check that the intended profile is selected and that the paddle has the expected assignment.
- Test the assigned controller button in a local PC or console game. If it works there, the profile and paddle mapping are likely functioning.
- If the problem occurs only in Cloud Gaming, check controller support for the exact device or client and confirm that the game supports the input.
- For a keyboard-key assignment, connect by USB or Xbox Wireless Adapter and check whether the game supports keyboard input.
