Do WARDOGS Players Keep Their Role XP Between Seasons?

WARDOGS role XP is reported to persist between seasons, but that does not confirm whether cash, Gold Bars, unlocks, challenges, or other account progress resets.

Yes, according to a reported BULKHEAD developer answer, WARDOGS role XP does not reset each season. That is a specific rule for role XP—not confirmation that cash, Gold Bars, unlocks, challenges, Player Skills, or every other account field will carry over. Seasonal XP curves and item orders can change, so a new season may alter progression requirements without wiping previously earned role XP.

This distinction matters because WARDOGS is in Early Access, and its progression rules may change with updates. The answer below reflects the available season-specific information, not a guarantee about every future build.

Does WARDOGS reset XP every season?

The reported developer answer says that role XP is not reset each season and describes role progression as a long-term rank-up process. WARDOGS’s official Steam Early Access listing describes the game as having cash- and XP-based progression, but the role-XP persistence answer is reported through secondary records that link to the developer source. It should therefore be read narrowly: it addresses role XP, not a universal account-progression policy.

What changes when a new season starts?

The Season 1 progression guide quotes BULKHEAD’s changelog: “Each season we will have a different XP curve with different item orders.” In practical terms, a new season can change how much XP is needed at a given point and which items are unlocked along the way. That is different from erasing XP already earned.

#1 Best Overall
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - PC
  • New Pointstreak system that rewards players both for landing kills and completing objectives
  • Weapons proficiency system that allows you to customize your favorite weapons, making them more effiecent in any map or mode
  • Online/offline 2-player co-op Special Ops Survival mode that earns you experience through 16 frantic objective-based missions
  • New play modes, including: Kill Confirmed mode, Team Defender mode and user generated match modes
  • Integration with 'Call of Duty: Elite,' an online multiplayer oriented service launched simultaneously with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

For example, WarDogs Portal reports that the Season 1 curve required 250,000 XP to reach level 20, compared with 111,500 XP previously, a reported increase of 124.2%. Those are figures for the Season 1 curve as reported by the unofficial guide, not permanent requirements or evidence of a wipe. Check the current season’s in-game progression rather than relying on an older level threshold or unlock order.

What carries over—and what is still unclear?

Progression type What the available information says
Role XP A reported BULKHEAD developer answer says it does not reset each season.
XP curve and item order May differ by season; Season 1’s guide quotes BULKHEAD saying both will change.
Cash and Gold Bars The cited role-XP answer does not establish whether either resets.
Gear unlocks, challenges, Player Skills, and other account fields The cited information does not establish whether these reset or persist.

Players often use “wipe” to mean any seasonal reset, but separate progression fields can follow different rules. The evidence about role XP does not support saying that nothing wipes or that all progress carries over. For cash, Gold Bars, unlocks, challenges, Player Skills, or other fields, rely on a current official announcement or in-game notice before assuming they persist.

How to check the rule for your current season

  1. Check the current season’s in-game progression screen. Use it for the active XP thresholds and item order; figures from a previous season may no longer apply.
  2. Read the season or update announcement for explicit reset language. Look for each progression field named separately, rather than treating a statement about role XP as a rule for the whole account.
  3. Keep the build and season in mind. The official Steam listing identifies WARDOGS as an Early Access game, so progression details should be checked again after updates.
