Yes. Samsung Galaxy Buds have built-in microphones and can handle calls when connected to a phone. The microphone arrangement and call controls vary by model, so Samsung’s description of one generation should not be treated as a specification for every pair.
Can you talk on the phone with Samsung earbuds?
Yes. When Galaxy Buds are connected to your phone, you can use them for call audio and speak through their built-in microphones. Samsung’s call-features guide describes call handling and microphone use.

Samsung US Support says, “Each earbud features an internal microphone and two external microphones that help filter out noise.” This describes the configuration in that support guide; check the specifications for your particular model rather than assuming every Galaxy Buds generation uses the same layout.
How many microphones do Galaxy Buds have?
It depends on the model. Samsung’s comparison of Galaxy Buds3 Pro, Galaxy Buds3, and Galaxy Buds FE lists three microphones per earbud for those three models. Samsung’s separate US support guide describes one internal and two external microphones per earbud.

Galaxy Buds FE
Samsung’s Galaxy Buds FE product page specifies two outer microphones and one inner microphone per earbud. It also says a deep neural network (DNN) solution filters background noise from the wearer’s voice during calls.
These are manufacturer specifications and feature descriptions, not independent call-quality test results. They do not establish how clearly a particular pair will perform in every environment.

- Check the fit. Wear the earbuds correctly so the microphones are positioned as intended.
- Check the Bluetooth connection. Keep your phone close enough for a stable connection.
- Check mute and call controls. On the original Galaxy Buds and Buds+, touch-and-hold during a call can turn off the built-in microphone.
- Review settings and surroundings. Call settings, your environment, and noise-control features can affect call quality.
