If Distill.io alerts are not reaching your Android phone, first check that the monitor has a Push Notification action and that the Distill app is allowed to send notifications in Android settings. Distill documents its Chrome extension and Android app as separate products; its reviewed documentation does not describe installing the desktop Chrome extension in Chrome for Android. There is no established India-specific cause for this problem.
First identify which notification is missing
“Chrome on Android” can mean different things. The fix depends on whether you expect an alert from the Distill app, a notification from a website in Chrome, or a desktop extension alert to appear on your phone.

- Distill app push: A notification sent to the Distill Android app. This is Distill’s documented mobile route for push alerts.
- Chrome website notification: An alert controlled by Android Chrome’s permission for a particular website. This is separate from Distill app push.
- Desktop extension alert: A notification generated by a monitor in the desktop browser. A desktop change indicator alone does not confirm that a mobile push action was configured or sent.
Distill lists Chrome browser extensions separately from its Android and iOS apps; the documentation reviewed does not give a Chrome-for-Android extension installation workflow. See Distill’s supported platforms and What is Distill?.

1. Confirm the monitor has a Push Notification action
Open the affected monitor’s options, choose Actions, and check that Push Notification is listed. If it is missing, add it and save the monitor. Distill notes that available alert methods can depend on the subscription plan; this does not mean that a plan change will fix a phone or app delivery problem. Follow the steps in Distill’s Chrome extension guide.

2. Check Android permission and app sign-in
- In Android system settings, find the Distill app and allow it to send notifications. The exact menu labels and location vary by Android version and phone manufacturer.
- Open Distill and confirm you are signed in to the account associated with the monitor.
- If the app appears out of sync, Distill support suggests signing out and back in, updating the app, or reinstalling it.
3. Send a test notification
In the Distill Android app, open Menu → Settings → Test Notification. Note whether the app reports success and whether an alert actually appears on the phone. A successful test request without a visible notification points toward device permission or delivery rather than the monitor’s change-detection setup. Distill’s support guidance is available in its phone push-notification discussion.
4. Inspect the monitor’s action log
Check the affected monitor’s action log after a change is detected. If there is no push action recorded, review the monitor configuration and whether the event should have triggered an action. If a push action is recorded but the phone receives nothing, focus on app sign-in, Android notification permission, and delivery. Persistent account-specific failures may need review by Distill support.

If you mean Chrome website notifications
For an alert from a website in Android Chrome, check Chrome’s Site settings → Notifications and the permission for the specific site. Test in a regular browsing session, not private browsing: Google says notifications are not received in private browsing. Chrome may also remove a site’s permission if you have not visited it for a while. Distill describes its extension as relying on the device’s browser to make checks. Cloud monitoring changes where checks run, not whether a push action is configured. Details are in Distill’s platform overview and Chrome extension documentation.
Common causes and what to do
- No Push Notification action: Add it in the monitor’s Actions settings, then confirm the monitor records the action when a qualifying change occurs.
- Android blocks app notifications: Allow notifications for Distill in system settings; menu names vary by device.
- Wrong account or stale app session: Sign in with the account tied to the monitor; if needed, sign out and back in or update/reinstall the app.
- Test succeeds but no alert appears: Check Android permission and app delivery. Share the test result with Distill support if it persists.
- Testing a Chrome site alert in private browsing: Repeat in a regular Chrome session and review that site’s notification permission.
- Expecting the desktop extension to run inside Android Chrome: Use the Distill Android app for documented mobile push instead; the reviewed platform documentation distinguishes the app from the browser extension.
When the problem persists
Contact Distill support with the account email, Android device and app details, whether the Test Notification reports success, whether the phone displays it, and what the monitor action log shows. This evidence helps distinguish a monitor setup issue from app or device delivery. Support threads include cases requiring account-level review, but they do not establish a general outage.

The documentation and support material reviewed through October 3, 2026 does not establish a cause specific to India, such as a carrier or regional service issue. A support thread reports a newer Android app version released July 13, 2026, but does not identify its version number; check the app store listing for the current release.
