One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchIf you’re looking for an alternative to Distill for monitoring website changes, start by deciding where checks should run and what kind of change you need to catch. Visualping, ChangeTower and Hexowatch are relevant options, but the available information does not establish a current price or performance winner among them. Compare their live plans against your needs for page coverage, check frequency, alerts and change history.
Here, Distill means the website-change-monitoring service at Distill.io—not unrelated products that use the same name. Its Product Hunt listing records a launch on June 8, 2019, and ranks it #3 for that day. Product Hunt’s Distill Web Monitor listing identifies the product; Distill’s own documentation explains its monitoring service.

What Distill does—and what to compare
Distill monitors webpages or selected page content and alerts you when it detects a change. Its documented notification routes include email, SMS, mobile push, Discord, Slack, Microsoft Teams and other apps connected through webhooks. Selection and filtering options let users focus monitoring on particular content rather than treating every page change as equally important. See Distill’s documentation and feature overview.

Distill offers cloud monitoring on its servers as well as browser-extension and desktop/local monitoring, which have different operating constraints and plan limits. If you need checks to continue while your computer is off, investigate cloud operation; if monitoring can depend on a device being available, compare local options and their limits. Distill’s pricing page describes its plan distinctions.

Distill alternatives to consider
Visualping
Visualping is relevant if you want to monitor a whole webpage or a selected area and receive email alerts. That description comes from its Product Hunt listing, which is useful for identifying the product’s category but does not establish current plan limits, pricing or reliability. Check Visualping’s own current product and pricing information before choosing a plan.
ChangeTower
Product Hunt describes ChangeTower as cloud software that periodically checks public-facing websites for content changes, HTML changes and availability, then notifies selected users or groups. This makes it a candidate to investigate if you want hosted checks or availability monitoring alongside content changes. The description is a category summary, not independent evidence of current service performance or plan terms. See the ChangeTower listing and verify details with the vendor.
Hexowatch
Hexowatch is listed by Product Hunt as a service for website change detection, monitoring and archiving. Consider it if retaining an archive is important, but confirm with the vendor which content types, history features and plan limits are currently available. The Product Hunt listing does not establish current pricing or detailed capabilities.

Before comparing headline prices, write down what the monitor must do. A plan that looks inexpensive may not suit you if it checks too slowly, limits the number of monitored pages or lacks your required alert route.
- Check location: Decide whether checks must run in the cloud or can depend on a browser or desktop device being available.
- Monitored content: Confirm support for whole-page monitoring, selected visual areas, text or HTML changes, or availability checks—whichever you need.
- Frequency and quotas: Compare the shortest check interval, monitor count and monthly check allowance at the plan level you would actually use.
- Alerts and teamwork: Check supported notification channels, recipient limits and any team workflows you require.
- Change history: Verify whether prior versions or archives are included, and for how long.
- Total cost: Compare included allowances and overage terms at your expected usage, not just the advertised starting price.
These checks matter because the alternatives are not established as interchangeable by their category listings. For example, a service that mentions visual-area monitoring may not meet a need for HTML or availability checks; confirm the specific capability and plan terms directly with each vendor.

Distill’s official pricing page, accessed in 2026, listed the following monthly prices. These are current-page observations from that access point, not a guarantee of today’s price or a record of historical pricing. The page also stated that annual billing carries a 20% discount. The pricing page distinguishes plans by monitor counts, minimum cloud-check intervals, monthly cloud checks, device counts, notification allowances, macros and version history. The headline prices alone therefore do not show which plan fits a particular workload. The available information does not support a like-for-like price comparison with Visualping, ChangeTower or Hexowatch; consult each vendor’s current pricing and included limits before concluding that one is cheaper or better value.

How Distill compares with Visualping
The documented point of comparison is the monitoring approach: Distill supports monitoring webpages or selected content, with both cloud and local monitoring modes and multiple notification routes. Product Hunt describes Visualping as monitoring whole pages or selected areas and sending email alerts. Those descriptions suggest both are worth evaluating for page-change monitoring, but they do not establish equivalent check intervals, quotas, history, integrations, current prices or performance. Compare those details on the vendors’ own current pages before deciding.
