How to read the published specifications
Room size and cooling capacity
The 3.5kW capacity and 15–23m² recommendation are Dimplex’s stated figures, not independent proof of performance in a particular home. A room near the upper end of the range may present a different cooling challenge from a shaded, well-insulated room near the lower end. Use the recommendation to shortlist the unit, then account for the conditions in the room you intend to cool.

Conflicting weight and dehumidification figures
The documents do not agree on two specifications. Dimplex’s September 2024 sheet and CHOICE list the weight as 22.5kg, while Dimplex’s August 2025 manual says 23.5kg. Dehumidification is listed as 1.2L/hour in the 2024 sheet and 1.7L/hour in the 2025 manual. The available documents do not explain either difference, so neither figure should be treated as an undisputed final specification.

Noise, app support and operating cost
Dimplex publishes a noise level of at or below 65dB(A), but that is a manufacturer specification, not a result from an independent test. The manual documents Wi-Fi use with the Glen Dimplex Connect app; this confirms that app support is described in the product documentation, not how the app performs in practice. The accessible CHOICE listing does not establish an independent noise result, cooling time or running cost.
What is included and what to check before buying
Dimplex’s September 2024 sheet says a window kit and remote control are included. A window kit matters because a portable air conditioner needs an exhaust route through a window; confirm that the supplied kit suits your window arrangement and that the exact listing is for the DCP33EB. The same sheet states a two-year domestic warranty. Check the warranty conditions and the included items with the seller for the exact purchase market and SKU, since the published sheet alone does not confirm what a particular listing or transaction includes.

CHOICE has a listing for the DCP33EB and shows a price of $899.00, but that figure is not verified as a current market price. The page marks detailed test results, running costs and other information as members-only. For a meaningful comparison with another portable air conditioner, line up the same details: manufacturer-stated capacity and room range, dimensions and weight, window-sealing hardware, noise specification and whether it is independently measured, dehumidification, app or other controls, warranty and current price. Dimplex’s manuals also identify a smaller 2.6kW DCP26EB, but the available information does not establish how either model would perform against the other in a real room.
