On published specifications, the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ is the older, higher-tier design: it has four Cortex-A77 performance cores and Mali-G77 graphics, compared with two Cortex-A76 cores and Mali-G57 MC2 graphics in the official Dimensity 6360 specifications. One naming caveat: MediaTek’s product page says “Dimensity 6360,” while “Dimensity 6360 Apex” appears in third-party listings. Published benchmark figures offer a snapshot, not a controlled head-to-head test, so they do not establish which chip is faster in every phone or use case.
Dimensity 1000+ vs Dimensity 6360 Apex: specifications
The table compares MediaTek’s official Dimensity 1000+ and Dimensity 6360 specifications. “Apex” is the name used in third-party coverage; the MediaTek page cited for the 6360 does not use that suffix.

How the CPU and GPU specifications compare
CPU: more performance cores in the 1000+
The Dimensity 1000+ has four Cortex-A77 cores, while the official Dimensity 6360 configuration has two Cortex-A76 cores. Both pair their performance cores with four or six Cortex-A55 cores, respectively. On paper, the 1000+ has more high-performance cores and uses the newer performance-core design of these two chips. Actual responsiveness also depends on the phone’s software, cooling, memory configuration and workload.

Graphics: different Mali generations, not a frame-rate result
The 1000+ uses Mali-G77 graphics; the 6360 uses Mali-G57 MC2. These are different GPU designs and configurations, but the names alone do not provide a reliable gaming frame-rate comparison. A game’s result depends on the handset, graphics settings, temperature and software as well as the chip.
Memory, display and connectivity support
Both chips support LPDDR4X/LPDDR4x memory and UFS 2.2 storage. These are platform limits, not a description of every phone’s installed RAM or storage capacity; handset makers choose the actual configuration.

The 1000+ lists a higher maximum display refresh rate: up to 144 Hz Full HD+, against up to 120 Hz for the official 6360. A supported ceiling does not mean a phone’s panel reaches that rate; check the handset’s display specifications.
MediaTek lists Wi-Fi 6 and peak downlink up to 4.7 Gbps for the 1000+, versus Wi-Fi 5 and up to 3.3 Gbps for the 6360. These are chipset capabilities, not promises of real-world speed. Local network support, carrier bands, signal conditions and the phone’s implementation affect what users can access.

Source: 91mobiles’ Dimensity 6360 Apex results and Dimensity 1000 Plus results, accessed in 2026. The pages do not establish that the compared phones used identical benchmark versions, firmware, memory, thermal conditions or repeated-run averaging. The scores are therefore useful as a snapshot of the publisher’s listed data, but not as a strict chip-versus-chip ranking. In particular, the 6360 Apex results should not be treated as proof of a universal advantage over the 1000+ from these unmatched samples.

What “Dimensity 6360 Apex” means
MediaTek’s official product page reviewed here is for the Dimensity 6360, without the “Apex” suffix. 91mobiles uses the Dimensity 6360 Apex name in its third-party listing and associates that listing with phones including the OnePlus N6 5G and OnePlus N6x 5G. That establishes the naming in third-party coverage, not an official MediaTek confirmation that “Apex” is a separate or formally branded variant.

For a specification-led comparison, the 1000+ has the stronger-looking CPU and GPU configuration, plus higher listed display-refresh and peak-downlink ceilings. The 6360’s listed benchmark scores cannot settle the comparison because the available results are not from a controlled, matched test. For a buying decision, compare the specific phones rather than relying on chipset names alone: their cooling, memory, display, software and network support can change the experience.

MediaTek announced the Dimensity 1000+ on May 7, 2020, describing features including 144 Hz display support, gaming and video enhancements, integrated 5G and power-saving technology. These are manufacturer-described capabilities, not independent measurements. MediaTek also describes the 6360 as energy-efficient and claims up to 57% faster or better gaming performance and up to 19% better gaming power efficiency against “direct alternative smartphone chipsets”; its cited page does not identify a specific competitor or test setup, so those figures should not be read as a direct comparison with the 1000+.
