Is Samsung Sound Assistant discontinued?
The official Samsung Galaxy Store listing remains live. It displays version 8.5.00.2 dated May 22, 2026, and includes a release note for version 9.0.00.11 that specifies One UI 9.0 and above. A live listing weighs against a general discontinuation, but it is not a guarantee that the app can be installed on every device or in every country.

Samsung’s listing explicitly cautions that some devices may not be supported. The available official information does not provide a complete compatibility table or confirm a universal shutdown. Treat availability as device- and region-dependent rather than assuming the app has vanished for everyone.
What Sound Assistant does
Sound Assistant is a Galaxy audio utility with controls beyond output routing. Samsung’s listing describes individual app-volume control, 150 fine volume steps, a floating equalizer, configurable sound settings, mono audio and left/right balance, saved equalizer settings, simultaneous playback, volume-panel customization, and media-control options. The listed capabilities are not a promise that every feature works on every Galaxy model: Samsung attaches One UI requirements to some features and warns that some devices may not be supported.

For example, the listing says the current displayed version supports One UI 9.0 and above, while its feature notes refer to requirements beginning with different One UI releases. Check the listing and your phone’s software version for the specific feature you need.
Why Sound Assistant may not appear on your phone
- Device support: Samsung says some devices may not be supported. Check the Galaxy Store listing directly on the Galaxy phone you want to use.
- Region or account availability: A live listing does not establish that installation is offered to every country or account.
- One UI version: The app listing and individual feature notes specify software-version requirements. A phone may not meet the requirement for a particular feature even if the app is listed.
If the listing does not offer installation on your device, the official information cited here does not establish a universal workaround. Avoid assuming that an unofficial download will be compatible.

How to route one app’s audio without Sound Assistant
For the narrower task of sending one app’s media to a different output, try Samsung’s built-in Separate app sound setting. Samsung documents the setting for supported Galaxy devices; availability and exact wording can vary by model and One UI release.

- Choose the output, such as Phone or a Bluetooth device, and return from the setting.
