Best Buy also lists a B200 handle/lever configuration, so availability extends beyond DESLOC’s own store.

How fast is fingerprint unlocking?
DESLOC’s current product specification says deadbolt B200 fingerprint recognition takes less than 0.3 seconds. The company describes its system as “Next-generation fingerprint unlocking technology, upgraded through AI learning and validated by millions of users.” Both statements come from the manufacturer. No independent laboratory test located for this article verifies recognition speed, biometric accuracy, false-acceptance resistance, or the “millions of users” validation claim.
In everyday use, the actual time will also include touching the reader, motor movement, and opening the door. Finger cleanliness, placement, temperature, battery condition, and installation alignment can affect the experience even when the sensor recognizes a print quickly.

Do you need the G2 Gateway?
Bluetooth-only use
No gateway is needed for local operation. A phone can control the lock over Bluetooth when it is within DESLOC’s specified 2-meter range. Fingerprints, keypad codes and the physical key remain available without an internet connection.
Remote access and scheduled codes
The optional G2 Gateway is the required bridge for internet-based features identified by DESLOC, including remote control and scheduled temporary codes. It also supports the practical scenario of checking or operating the lock while away from home. Gateway bundles are sold separately or with some B200 configurations, so confirm the package contents before ordering.
Will the B200 fit your door?
Compatibility depends on the exact B200 version and the door’s existing preparation. DESLOC’s handle-set FAQ describes the product as fitting single-cylinder doors and generally being used on wooden doors. Mortise and integrated locks are not compatible. Steel doors are generally unsuitable without drilling or other structural changes.

Measure before purchase
- Confirm whether you need the deadbolt, handle-set, or lever model.
- Measure door thickness and the existing bore and backset dimensions.
- Check the door handing and make sure the latch orientation can be set correctly.
- Verify that the door uses a single-cylinder layout if buying the handle-set version.
- Plan for drilling or a professional installer if the door is steel, mortise-prepared, or otherwise nonstandard.
DESLOC describes installation as screwdriver-based, but that assumes the door already has compatible holes and alignment. A lock that is slightly misaligned can produce motor strain, incomplete locking, or unreliable auto-locking.

Battery life, emergency power and operating conditions
The B200 uses four AA batteries. DESLOC estimates around 12 months of operation and provides a low-battery indicator, while noting that actual life varies with use. Frequent motor cycles, heavy traffic, cold conditions, and weak or mixed batteries can shorten that interval.
A USB-C emergency-power connection is provided for a depleted battery situation. It is an external rescue input, not a replacement for maintaining the four AA cells. Replace all four batteries together with a matched set and keep the mechanical key available.

Installation and first-use checklist
- Photograph and measure the existing lock before removing it.
- Match the measurements to the selected B200 version, including backset, bore and door thickness.
- Install the exterior and interior assemblies squarely; do not force screws against a misaligned latch.
