1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsChoose a De’Longhi espresso machine if you want espresso-based drinks and are comfortable with the preparation your chosen model requires. Choose a drip coffee maker if drip-brewed coffee is what you prefer. These are different brewing styles, not interchangeable machine types; the better buy depends on the coffee you want and how involved you want to be.
What each machine is designed to make
De’Longhi lists manual espresso machines, automatic espresso machines, and drip coffee makers as separate categories on its US manuals page. An espresso machine is the fit for espresso and drinks built around it; a drip coffee maker is for drip-brewed coffee. Decide on the cup you want before comparing individual machines.

De’Longhi’s Canadian manuals category includes its TrueBrew drip coffee makers. That establishes a De’Longhi drip-coffee product line, but it does not establish current US model specifications or availability.
How much preparation do you want to do?
Manual espresso: more control, more variables
De’Longhi describes a manual machine as one where the user controls the coffee-making process. Its guidance describes filling and tamping a portafilter before brewing. Grind size, tamping pressure, water temperature, and dose all affect extraction, so making espresso this way involves adjusting several factors.
#1 Best Overall
- Please refer to user guide or user manual or user guide (provided below in PDF) before first use
- Includes Portafilter, measuring scoop/tamper and two filters for single or double espresso
- Stainless steel boiler is engineered to last long and work for years
- Manual steam wand to texture milk for lattes and cappuccinos
That involvement can suit someone who wants to take part in preparing espresso. It may be less appealing if you want a simpler routine. For a concrete example of the manual category, De’Longhi identifies the La Specialista Prestigio EC9355.R as a manual espresso maker and provides setup, preparation, cleaning, and descaling materials on its model-support page.
Automatic espresso: less manual work
Do not assume every De’Longhi espresso machine uses the manual portafilter workflow. De’Longhi contrasts manual preparation with fully automatic preparation at the touch of a button. Check the exact model’s product information and instructions to understand what it automates and what you still need to do.

Drip coffee: choose it for the brew style
A drip coffee maker is the straightforward category to consider when you want drip-brewed coffee rather than espresso. The available manufacturer information does not establish that a particular TrueBrew model is faster, easier to clean, or larger-capacity than a particular espresso machine. Compare the specific models’ instructions and specifications for those practical details.

Compare specific models before you buy
The category choice narrows the field, but it cannot answer model-level questions. Before purchasing, check the current listing and manual for the exact machine you are considering.

What the available evidence does—and does not—say
De’Longhi’s guidance says both manual and automatic machines can make coffee, with preparation preference distinguishing them. That is manufacturer guidance, not an independent performance test. The available product and support pages establish product categories and examples; they do not rank one machine above another.
De’Longhi says SCA certification applies only to select coffee makers and is based on water temperature, brewing time, and SCA Golden Cup recommendations. The cited information does not establish that a particular TrueBrew model is certified, so verify any model-specific certification claim against that model’s current documentation.

Likewise, a measurement from an individual manual should not be treated as a universal recipe: De’Longhi’s BCO430 manual says to use an approximately 7-gram level measure for the drip preparation described for that combined model. That instruction is specific to that manual, not a general rule for every drip brewer or recipe.
