The DeLonghi DEDW6012W is a white, 60 cm freestanding dishwasher rated for 12 place settings. Its published specifications include 3 energy stars, 4.5 water stars and claimed water use of 10.5 litres per cycle. But public information does not establish how well it washes or dries, how noisy it is, or how reliable it has proved in testing. CHOICE marks the model discontinued, and one retailer says it is no longer available, so this is best treated as a model to assess when comparing an existing unit or a second-hand listing—not as a straightforward new-buy recommendation.
Is the DeLonghi DEDW6012W any good?
There is enough public information to describe the DEDW6012W’s size, capacity and published efficiency figures, but not enough to give it a tested-performance verdict. CHOICE has a page for the exact model, yet its public listing does not reveal the expert rating or scores for washing, drying, energy efficiency, measured use, noise, program time, reliability or owner satisfaction. It also does not show the year tested. CHOICE’s DEDW6012W listing therefore should not be read as a recommendation or proof of cleaning quality.

For a used unit, condition matters as much as the specification sheet. Check that it completes a cycle, drains, and does not leak; inspect the racks, spray arms, filter and door seals. Those checks can reveal obvious faults, but they cannot substitute for independent performance or reliability results.

Appliances Online lists the white freestanding model at 845 mm high, 598 mm wide and 600 mm deep, with capacity for 12 place settings. CHOICE rounds the dimensions to 85 × 60 × 60 cm. The product is freestanding, not a compact 45 cm model or an integrated dishwasher designed to sit behind cabinetry. When comparing replacements, first check the installation style and available space, then compare capacity and operating specifications. De’Longhi’s range includes different configurations, and the brand notes that features vary by model: De’Longhi dishwasher range.
How much water and energy does it use?
The published figures are 4.5 water stars and 10.5 litres of water per cycle, alongside 3 energy stars and 265 kWh per year. CHOICE reports the star ratings and annual energy figure; Appliances Online lists 10.5 litres per cycle. These are product or label specifications, not independent measurements of every household’s use. Actual consumption depends on the selected program and how the machine is used.

Is the DEDW6012W discontinued, and can you still buy one?
CHOICE marks the DEDW6012W discontinued, and Andoo’s listing says it is no longer available. That establishes that it is not a current, readily available model from those listings; it does not prove that every new-old-stock or used unit has disappeared. Stock can change, so check a seller’s current listing and confirm the exact model on the appliance’s rating plate. Andoo’s model listing.
CHOICE displayed A$549 on its page, but the listing’s date is not stated and the model is marked discontinued. Treat that figure as potentially historical, not as a current price or reliable guide to second-hand value.

What should you verify before buying or installing one?
- Confirm the exact model. Read the rating plate on the appliance and compare it with the seller’s description and documentation.
- Measure the space. Use the 845 × 598 × 600 mm retailer dimensions as a starting point, then check the installation requirements for the specific unit.
- Check operation and condition. Look for leaks, drainage problems, damaged racks, obstructed spray arms, a dirty or damaged filter, and worn seals.
- Ask about service history and included parts. Do not assume a family guide or a listing for a related model confirms compatibility of a replacement component.
- Compare evidence, not just star labels. For alternatives, compare installation type, capacity, published energy and water use, warranty, programs, current availability and—where accessible—independent wash, dry, noise and reliability results.
The guide linked by Appliances Online is titled for model DEDW6012SC, although the retailer associates the file with the DEDW6012W. It describes components including upper and lower baskets, spray arms, a filter assembly, inlet connector and drain pipe, and gives the family’s dimensions and capacity. Its cover shows © 2017. Because it is a shared-family guide rather than conclusive W-only documentation, use the appliance’s rating plate and unit-specific documents when checking installation details or ordering parts. The guide advises: “Please read this user guide carefully and retain for future reference.” DEDW6012 family guide linked by Appliances Online. De’Longhi also provides an AU manual search portal.
