Consumer NZ’s July 2016 test measured 6.1 litres of water removal per day under its test conditions—not the 30 L/day claimed rating, which applies at 30°C. CHOICE now lists the model as discontinued, so check availability and parts support before buying.
What is the DeLonghi DDS30 Combi?
The DDS30COMBI is a compressor dehumidifier sold under De’Longhi’s Tasciugo AriaDry Compact name. Its distinguishing feature is Extra Power, a heating function intended to make it easier to raise the room temperature while the unit dehumidifies. The manufacturer’s support center provides the model’s instructions for use.

It has a removable condensate tank and a continuous-drain arrangement, as well as castors for moving it. These are useful features for an appliance that may need to run for extended periods, although the measured tank capacity in Consumer NZ’s test was smaller than the claimed capacity.

Consumer NZ’s July 2016 New Zealand test gave the DDS30 Combi 78% overall. It scored well for water removal and energy efficiency, but its performance varied substantially with temperature. The 30 L/day figure is the manufacturer’s claimed rate at 30°C; Consumer NZ measured 6.1 L/day under its test conditions. Those figures describe different conditions and should not be treated as directly comparable everyday outputs.

The 2016 scores are historical results from Consumer NZ’s test, not a recent retest or a guarantee of current performance. They are most useful as a reminder to compare dehumidifiers at the temperatures and humidity levels where you plan to use them. A warm-condition maximum can overstate what a compressor unit removes in a cool room.
Does the heating function make it good for cold rooms?
Extra Power is a genuine heating feature, but it does not erase the DDS30 Combi’s weaker low-temperature result. The manual says the discharged air is generally warmer than the room and that Extra Power makes it easier to raise room temperature. It also recommends minimally heating very cold rooms to improve dehumidifying capacity.

Think of the heater as an aid to the appliance’s operation and room comfort, not a replacement for a room heater. If the space is consistently cold, give particular weight to a model’s low-temperature moisture-removal performance rather than relying on a high extraction claim measured in warm conditions.

How noisy, heavy and costly was it to run?
In Consumer NZ’s July 2016 test, the DDS30 Combi registered 56 dBA and weighed 16.2 kg. That makes it a substantial appliance to move and one whose noise may matter if it will run near a bedroom or workspace. The castors can help with repositioning, but they do not make it lightweight.

Consumer NZ estimated NZ$72 per year in running costs using three hours of operation daily for a year and an electricity price of NZ$0.26/kWh. This is a historical estimate based on that usage and tariff—not a current bill forecast. Your cost depends on local electricity prices, runtime and operating conditions.
Are the tank and continuous drain practical?
Consumer NZ recorded a 3.7 L measured tank capacity, compared with the 4.5 L claimed capacity in its 2016 test table. The tank provides a straightforward option when a drain is not nearby, but frequent use can mean regular emptying. The appliance also has a continuous-drain door and nozzle, shown in the manufacturer’s manual; this can reduce tank-emptying if you can route a compatible drain to a suitable outlet.

Follow the manual’s directions for setting up drainage and cleaning the air filter. The manual identifies the tank, filter, drain nozzle and continuous-drain door; do not assume that an arbitrary hose or connector will fit without checking compatibility.

CHOICE lists the DDS30 Combi as discontinued. That does not establish whether remaining stock or used units are available in a particular country, so verify the exact model code and seller’s warranty and return terms before purchasing.

De’Longhi’s Australia/New Zealand parts page lists a filter and holder assembly for DDS30COMBI, code 0148730301, region/version AU, NZ. Its tank listing is labelled “WATER TANK (DDS20)”; that label does not confirm compatibility with DDS30COMBI, so ask the parts provider before ordering. The manual says: “For any repairs always contact a Technical Service Centre authorised by the Manufacturer only.” It also advises using original spare parts.
