The Dell XPS Googlebook is one specific premium laptop; Chromebook Plus is a category of laptops from multiple manufacturers. The right choice depends on which Chromebook Plus model you are comparing and what it costs. Dell’s U.S. listing for the XPS Googlebook DX13267 was $999.99 on October 7, 2026, while Google Store listed it at $999. Those are dated listings, not guaranteed prices.
First, know what you are comparing
The XPS Googlebook DX13267 is a single Dell model. Chromebook Plus is Google’s label for qualifying laptops made by different brands, with varied designs, configurations and prices. So “XPS Googlebook versus Chromebook Plus” is not a like-for-like model comparison: a fair value decision requires choosing a particular Chromebook Plus laptop and checking its current configuration and price.

Google introduced Chromebook Plus in 2023 with a minimum hardware specification: Intel Core i3 12th Gen or newer, or AMD Ryzen 3 7000 series or newer; at least 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage; a 1080p-or-better webcam with temporal noise reduction; and a Full HD IPS-or-better display. These are launch-era category requirements, not the specifications of every current model. Google’s 2023 launch announcement’s $399 starting price is historical, not a current 2026 quote. Display, battery and phone integration: read the claims carefully
Display
Google Store specifies 500-nit brightness and 30–120 Hz variable refresh for the Dell’s 13.4-inch panel. Dell’s launch release also claims 100% DCI-P3 coverage. These are published specifications and claims, not independent measurements. For any Chromebook Plus alternative, check its exact panel rather than assuming that meeting the Full HD IPS-or-better launch floor means it matches the Dell’s resolution, brightness or refresh rate.

Dell advertises up to 16 hours of Netflix streaming, while Google Store lists up to 18 hours without the same test context in the cited passage. The figures use different wording and are not a head-to-head comparison; neither is independent lab evidence. The Dell’s listed battery capacity is 52 Wh, and Google Store lists 65 W USB-C charging. Choose a Chromebook Plus only after selecting a model
If your priority is spending less, compare the Dell with a current, named Chromebook Plus laptop rather than with the category in general. Verify the exact price and configuration, display, memory, storage, app compatibility and update-support date. The 2023 launch price does not tell you what a Chromebook Plus costs now.
There is no evidence-based overall winner here
The available manufacturer and platform information establishes specifications and stated features, but no independent comparative benchmark or head-to-head test. It cannot show that the Dell is faster, lasts longer or offers better value than Chromebook Plus laptops as a class. Make the decision against a specific alternative and your priorities.
