Singapore-headquartered DayOne Data Centers filed a preliminary registration statement for a proposed U.S. IPO on October 5, 2026. The filing proposes American depositary shares (ADSs) and a Nasdaq listing under the ticker DODC, but the offering was not yet effective and its size and price range remained undetermined as of the company’s October 6 announcement. DayOne operates data-center infrastructure for large technology customers; it is not an AI software company.
What DayOne does—and how AI fits
DayOne describes itself as a digital infrastructure platform that develops and operates hyperscale data centers. Its business is to provide facilities and IT power capacity to large cloud and technology customers. The company connects demand for cloud computing and AI workloads to the need for more data-center capacity; the proposed IPO is not an offering of an AI product.

In its preliminary prospectus, DayOne reports resources totaling 4.6 GW across ten markets and approximately 2.3 GW of bookings, primarily from seven global hyperscale and technology customers. These are company-reported figures, not independently audited measures of operating capacity. The filing says its data-center and market-position information draws in part on a Structure Research report commissioned by DayOne and dated July 30, 2026, alongside company estimates; the prospectus notes that the information relies on assumptions and has limitations.

What the capacity figures mean
DayOne’s measures describe committed IT power capacity, not revenue. Its preliminary prospectus defines them as follows:
#1 Best Overall
- Bookings: IT power capacity committed under legally binding customer contracts.
- Billings: committed capacity that is income-generating under those contracts.
- Backlog: committed capacity that is not yet income-generating.
That distinction matters when interpreting the approximately 2.3 GW of bookings: the figure does not mean all of that capacity is already operating or producing income.
Why DayOne emphasizes Singapore, Johor and Batam
DayOne’s regional strategy began in Southeast Asia. Its SIJORI footprint connects Singapore, Johor in Malaysia, and Batam in Indonesia. The company says it developed the network in response to capacity constraints in Singapore, with the aim of supporting low-latency public-cloud, AI-training and inference deployments across the region.
The prospectus says three hyperscale customers each have multi-market bookings around or exceeding 200 MW. It also reports that most customer agreements run for 10 to 15 years, typically with five-year renewal options. These are company-reported contract and capacity details, not guarantees of future revenue or facility utilization.

In an August 18, 2026 announcement, UOB said DBS, OCBC and UOB provided a four-year S$530 million green loan for DayOne’s first Singapore data center, a 20 MW project. The lenders said it was expected to become operational by Q1 2027; that is an announced target, not confirmation that the facility is operating.
The announcement describes on-site solid oxide fuel-cell generation as a proof of concept exploring hydrogen-based energy, along with vertical building-integrated photovoltaics and hybrid air and liquid cooling. These are planned design features, not independently verified operating results.
What is known about the proposed IPO
DayOne’s October 5 preliminary SEC Form F-1 proposes an IPO of ADSs representing ordinary shares and a listing on Nasdaq under DODC. In its October 6 announcement, the company said the registration statement was not effective and that the number of ADSs and price range had not been determined. Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, BofA Securities and Citigroup were named as underwriters.
Rank #4
Because the filing is preliminary and key terms are blank, it does not establish an IPO valuation, expected proceeds, offer date, final ADS ratio or first trading date. The filing also says ADS investors would hold securities in a Cayman Islands holding company rather than direct interests in operating subsidiaries—an important distinction when considering the proposed security’s structure.

Until the registration statement becomes effective and the offering terms are set, investors cannot treat DODC as an available, priced public listing. Later filings and offering documents would be needed to assess the final terms. For evaluating the business, keep capacity measures separate from revenue and operating capacity, and consider customer concentration, contract duration, regional power availability, construction schedules and financing needs alongside any eventual IPO valuation.
